Crucial game for Deportivo that’s fading away. De La Barrera is recovering Keko and Uche. Raí could be making his debut.

Very important game for Deportivo as the Galicians host Unionistas de Salamanca (Sunday, 19h00 CET). The last defeat with SD Compostela just increased the crisis of a team that remains winless and scoreless in 2021. The situation has increased the tension at Deportivo, the fans are protesting and president Fernando Vidal addressed the media on Wednesday.

The true is that it wasn’t a convincing speech, and actually, it just increased the doubts as he confessed that the club must get rid of Diego Rolan, the best scorer at the team. It isn’t clear if he will be leave or not before the game, on Friday he didn’t complete the session with the group.

The tension also forced the club to suspend the press conferences, on this week there are no interviews conceded to the radios and papers, the only ones that are addressing the media are Celso Borges in the press conference of Thursday and coach Rubén De La Barrera on Friday during the normal virtual conversations with journalists.

At least De La Barrera s having the good news that almost the entire squad will be available for the meeting. Apart from the case with Rolán, Héctor Hernández, Keko Gontán and Uche Agbo are recovered from their muscle problems and should be part of the roster.

The coach also has the novelty of Raí Nascimento for the game, the Brazilian winger was signed during the week and might end as a starter despite he will only have five sessions with the team before the kick-off.  The only casualty for the game will be Mujaid Sadick, who was sent off on Saturday against SD Compostela.

With the full squad available, the options of Fabril’s players are reduced, especially taking in mind that they have been isolated due to the COVID-19, but the coach might end calling Adri Castro, who was even tested as a starter in a 4-3-3 figure joining Raí and Beauvue in attack.

At Unionistas de Salamanca, the team is the leader of the subgroup and is living its best moment on the season. Their only defeat was to lose hosting Deportivo on matchday 03 (0-1), and since then they have won six of the following eight games.

The curious thing about the team coached by Hernán Pérez is that, instead of signing reinforcements during the winter window, they are releasing players that don’t count for them. Four men have left the team during this window, left-back David Gallego was loaned out to Izarra, while midfielders Diego González and Javi Navas rescinded their contracts.

The latter was one of the captains of the team and signed with Salamanca UDS; actually he played against Depor in the goalless draw of two weeks ago. The other exit is midfielder Miki Muñóz, his loan contract with AD Alcorcón was cancelled on this week. The only casualty for the game is midfielder Luis Acosta, who is suspended with five yellow cards. He has been a fixed starter all season long.
