Another final for Deportivo. De La Barrera is only thinking of making one change to the lineup that defeated CD Guijuelo. The rival is also living a crucial week.

Referee: José Alberto Pardeiro Puente
Kick-off: 19h00 CET (A Malata)

Racing Ferrol is the worse local team in the subgroup. It’s the main reason why the Green Devils are currently in relegation, they have only added 5 points after 6 games at A Malata, and their only home victory occurred on last year: 4-0 Vs. Coruxo FC.

Neither Deportivo can presume of been a solid visitant. Los Blanquiazules have added 7 points in 7 visits played so far, it’s the fourth worst mark in the subgroup, and their only victory on the road occurred at the start of the campaign: 0-1 at Unionistas.

This is the 13th visit to Racing Ferrol playing for a league competition, Depor have added 3 victories and 6 draws in these games. The only official game played at A Malata during this century took place in Copa Del Rey 2002/03, Depor won the game 3-4 with braces from Diego Tristán and Luque.

After testing different draws and multiple changes at the starting lineup, coach Rubén De La Barrera is ready to give some continuity to a starting eleven after Deportivo were able to clinch the first victory in 2021. The coach will only make a modification at the starting eleven and it’s the entry of Keko Gontán for Lara.

Team news: Miku is the only player at the injury room, the rest of the first team was picked for the game. Adri Castro will play with the B squad on Sunday as there are on Fabril’s players on the roster.

Man to watch: Winger Keko Gontán. De La Barrera ants experience in attack paired with the youth of Rayco and Rai, and Deportivo improved when the Madrilenian player entered the field for the second half against CD Guijuelo.

Picked players: (21) Carlos Abad, Lucho García (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, Jorge Valín, Borja Granero, Derik Osede, Mujaid Sadick, Salva Ruiz, Héctor Hernández (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Celso Borges, Uche Agbo, Yago Gandoy, Diego Villares, Keko Gontán, Nacho González, Borja Galán, José Lara (midfielders); Raí Nascimento, Rayco Rodríguez & Claudio Beauvue (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-3-3) Lucho García – Bóveda, Mujaid, Borja Granero, Héctor Hernández – Borges, Uche Agbo, Villares – Keko, Rayco, Rai.
There’s a sense of disappointment at Ferrol as the team is currently in the relegation playoff zone, but the arrival of Cristóbal Parralo has brought some hope though his team was only able to get a point from the visit to SD Compostela. Now they face a crucial week in which they have two home game, first hosting Deportivo and in midweek recovering the postponed game with Celta B. Those six points would not only pull the team out of relegation, but it will also put them back into the fight for promotion.

Team news: No injury concerns for Parralo as strikers Nathan Palafoz and David Rodríguez are available. Centre-back Yeferson Quintana should start in defence after been suspended for five games.

Man to watch: Midfielder Elson José Dias ‘Elsinho’. The Brazilian is debuting this season in Europe despite already been 29, and he is important in the aerial game of Racing, to the point of been the top-scorer of the team with three goals, all of them scored through a header.

Picked players: (20) Diego Rivas, José María Leobalde (goalkeepers); Diego Seoane, Fernando Pumar, Jon García, Yeferson Quintana, Quique Fornos, Bruno Rivada, Marcos Moser (defenders); Elson José Dias ‘Elsinho’, Fernando Beltrán, Javi Rey, Dani Nieto, Álex López, Juan Sebastián Peñaloza, Daniel Abalo, Josep Caballé (midfielders); Nathan Palafoz, David Rodríguez & José Luis Gómez ‘Joselu’ (strikers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Diego Rivas – Diego Seoane, Quintana, Jon García, Pumar – Elsinho, Alex López – Pepe Caballé, Fer Beltrán, Dani Abalo – Joselu.
