De La Barrera is having two casualties for a crucial game. Celta B could be having up to seven casualties for the meeting, including Alfon, who scored twice at the Riazor.

Week of calm at Deportivo. The situation remains complicated at the standings with the team having low chances of reaching the promotion zone, but at least the victory over Pontevedra CF calmed the anxiety regarding a possible double demotion.

The players don’t want to think of what might happen within the last two matchdays, they prefer to focus on the next game, which is the visit to Celta B (Sunday, Barreiro, 11h30 CET). A victory will keep the chances of reaching the third place in the last matchday, while any other result would leave the team with the only goal of staying at the third tier.

After a week without injuries, the physical problems have returned to Abegondo. Coach Rubén De La Barrera is losing two players for the game. Derik Osede suffered an Achilles injury during the game Vs. Pontevedra CF. The centre-back needed surgery and will be out for the remaining of the season.

Meanwhile, Celso Borges remains out, and the latest scans confirmed that he suffered a strain on the hamstring muscle of his left leg, the coach said after the game at the Riazor that there was a chance he could be available for this game, but now the target is to have him available for the final matchday.

Eneko Bóveda and Borja Granero ended the last game at the Riazor with muscle issues, but both men have completed the last two sessions without problems. Also, the casualty of Osede has moved the coach to recall Juan Rodríguez.  The Fabril’s centre-back hasn’t been training with the first team since the arrival of De La Barrera, but on this week, and now that the team was reduced to only having two centre-backs, he has completed all the sessions with the senior squad.

At Celta B, the team coached by Onésimo Sánchez is facing a crucial end of the first round in which they are defending the third place. The problem is that they will have multiple casualties for the game against Deportivo.

It all starts with Alfonso González ‘Alfon’, the winger has suffered a muscle injury that will keep him at bay for a couple of weeks. He is the second-best scorer at the team with four goals, two of them scored at the Riazor against Deportivo.

Then there are three suspended players, two of them are regular starters: centre-back Brian Ferrares and striker Zoran Josipovic. The other player suspended is striker Kévin Soni. And the problems could be deeper if the first team decides to pick players from the B squad.

Two hours after the game at Barreiro, the first team is hosting Athletic Club at Balaídos, and coach Eduardo Coudet will probably need goalkeeper Patrick Sequeira and right-back Sergio Carreira. With Rubén Blanco injured, Coudet needs a replacement at the bench for the goal, while Carreira should be covering the spot of suspended Hugo Mallo.

Midfielder Jordan Holsgrove is another player that could be picked to the first team; he was a normal starter with Celta B at the start of the season, but after completing the ninety minutes at the Riazor, he has only played once with the team coached by Onésimo, and the reason is that he started to be picked by Coudet.
