Deportivo needs to clinch at least nineteen more points in order to reach the magic number to secure the permanence: 43. And the vital thing for the job is to take advantage of the eight matches still to be played at the Riazor. For this, Depor needs to improve its poor form at home. Specially since the Galicians are currently the worst home team in Primera Divisi??n.

It has been said in past occasions the permanence in Primera Divisi??n can be measured in 43 points, because no one has been relegated in past seasons after clinching that number of points. In order to reach that mark, Deportivo needs to add nineteen more points within the last fourteen matchdays in la liga. And the key for this is Riazor since eight of those encounters will be played in La Coru?±a.

But Riazor isn't the same fortress of past campaigns. In fact, Deportivo is the worst home team during the present season with just nine points added in eleven matches. This means the Galicians need to duplicate the numbers achieved so far at home. What Depor needs is to repeat the performance with Caparr??s between the months of January and April of the past year:

During this period, the Galicians clinched seventeen points within the eight matches played at home. If Lotina's team is able to repeat this performance, Depor will only need two more points during the remaining six visits in order to secure the permanence.

But the main problem seems to be the degree of difficulty of the teams that will visit the Riazor, because five of the eight rivals that Depor still has to face at home are currently fighting for the European places: RCD Espanyol, Sevilla, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Villarreal. While the remaining three are fighting for the permanence: Murcia, Atlhetic Bilbao and Levante. This last matches will be crucial and could even define who goes down and who doesn't.
