Goalkeper Dani Aranzubia confirmed on Thursday that he won't continue at Athletic Bilbao for the season 2008/2009. It's speculated the Basque could join Depor although he didn't want to confirm it. Meanwhile, striker Jonathan Pereyra was also linked with Depor. Finally, Pablo Amo has offers from other Primera clubs and Depor already started to negotiate for Wilhelmsson.

It seems clear that one of the positions that Depor will modify for the next season is the goalkeeping function, Dudu Aouate could be transferred to England while the future of Gustavo Mun??a is once again uncertain. Some names have been mentioned as possible replacements and the main choice to reinforce Lotina's Deportivo for next campaign is Daniel Aranzubia (28).

The current goalkeeper of Athletic Bilbao ends his contract in June and during Thursday, he gave a press conference announcing that he won't continue at the Basque club. The reporters are aware that Depor is interested in him and they asked about this possibility, the response of the Logro?o-born player was: "It would be a nice exit. Depor is a very good team, but nothing is for granted and we will have to wait. I have something out there."

Aranzubia has played his entire career at Athletic Bilbao, he has played 162 matches through 8 seasons at the Basque club. He also played a U-20 FIFA World Cup (Nigeria 1999) and a very common story between the fans is that he was the starting keeper in the Spanish squad above Iker Casillas. However, Aranzubia has been also appointed as an insecure keeper, mainly for his errors  in la liga, reason why he has lost the starting spot at Athletic within the last three seasons.

Other player that has been linked with Deportivo is Jonathan Pereira Rodr?guez (21). The Vigo-born striker belongs to Villarreal and according to Galician sportpaper Deporte Campe??n (DxT), Depor is negotiating the loan of the player for the next season, it could a very similar deal to the one of Lafita, this mean a loan with a buyout option for Depor and clauses that will allow his comeback to Villarreal in the future.

Pereira is currently playing on loan at Racing de Ferrol (Segunda Divisi??n) and is having an impressive season, he has performed in 34 matches and has scored 11 goals (he's the pichichi of the squad). A key in the operation is that Villarreal doesn't count with him for next season, but at  the same time, they want to see him progressing and Deportivo will be a better choice than Racing Ferrol. In fact, it has been rumoured that Villarreal and Deportivo could negotiate two similar deals with players that don't count for Pellegrini: central defender Jos? Mart?n Caceres (21) and striker Marco Rub?n (21).

The case of Pereira was heavily commented during Friday. The same striker was asked about this rumour and his response was "I don't know anything about it. I just found out. But it's a good place. A team that's currently fighting for the Intertoto and that's playing with young people. It's in Galicia. Near from home. I won't have any problem just because I played at Celta. When you are a professional, it's the same thing to do it with your biggest rival. I want to play in Primera Divisi??n. I want to learn and keep growing."

Meanwhile, coach Miguel Angel Lotina talked in Radio Galega about the plans for next season, the main thing he said is that "If Coloccini doesn't go out, we will only sign two or three new players." phrase that confirms the intentions of Richard Moar about only making a few changes for the next season.

About the players that are currently performing at Deportivo, La Voz de Galicia published an article about Pablo Amo. The central defender ends his contract in June of 2009 and according to his agent, Rodrigo Fern??ndez, he has offer from three clubs in Spain "We are talking about good teams, I must take care of Pablo's future and I want to talk about it during my visit to A Coru?a" The intention of Fern??ndez is to negotiate an extension with Depor or to propose an exit. According to him, any of this three clubs could present a good offer for the defender.

Also, Deporte Campe??n (DxT) informed on Friday that Deportivo and Nantes FC already started to negotiate the final transfer of Christian Wilhelmsson. Apparently the French club is wishing to recollect €4 million for the Swedish winger, while Depor is offering €3 million.

Antonio Barrag??n returned from Seville and gave a press conference in order to explain the evolution of his knee injury. "Psychologically, I'm very well because I am a strong person. I hope this is going to be just an story in my career. Doctors are positive and have said the knee is fine. They are the ones dictating the deadlines and I just have to work. If this is a matter of months, nothing happens because I want to live years of success. I want to be ready to join my team mates, I'm wishing to do it. " The doctors at the club expect that Barrag??n will start to run in three months.
