Juvenil A (Deportivo C) made a wonderful campaign in Liga de Honor, it clinched the first spot in group one and even ended the season undefeated. But later, the squad failed to pass the first round in copa del rey while it lost the penalty shoot-out in the Champions League. Despite this, it was a good year for a group of players that might join Fabril for the next season.

It has been a good year for the youth categories at Deportivo, but maybe the most impressing campaign was made by Juvenil A (Deportivo C). The squad coached by Jos?© Luis Devesa earned the first spot in group one of Divisi??n de Honor and even ended the season undefeated: twenty two victories and eight draws in thirty matches.

Thanks to this achievement, the squad won one of the seven tickets for the national final round in Divisi??n de Honor -called Champions League- The seven best squads is Spain won a place in the series that took place in Madrid: Real Sociedad, Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla, Las Palmas, Espanyol, Villarreal and Deportivo. In the end, Depor's youngsters lost in the first round after falling in the penalty shoot-out against Sevilla (4-5).

But Juvenil A fell it with pride after been losing 0-2 in the score, Marcos Caridad and Luis ?ngel tied the actions and Devesa’s squad missed the pass to the second round from the penalty spot, meaning that Depor ended the season undefeated after 31 games. The 14th edition of the Champions League was won later by Espanyol (2-1 win over Villarreal in the final).

Where Juvenil A had a discrete participation was in the copa del rey. The best 16 squads in Divisi??n de Honor earned a spot to copa del rey Juvenil and Depor's squad lost in the last-eight round against Real Sociedad. Devesa's squad lost the first-leg with a 0-3 score (the only defeat for the team in the whole season) and later it only clinched a 3-3 draw at Abegondo.

However, the season should be considered as a positive experience for players like Diego Penas, Ra??l, Rochela, Marcos Caridad, Geri, Juan Dom?­nguez; ?“scar, A?±??n, Dani Bea and Hugo Garc?­a. Youngsters that might have chance with Fabril for the next season. Precisely, five of them already played for some minutes with Depor B on the campaign that it's ending: goalkeeper Dario, central defenders Marcos Caridad, David Rochela, winger Juan Dom?­nguez and striker Hugo Garc?­a.
