Lotina revealed during the Venezuelan tour that he already talked with the replacement of Coloccini and that he is aware of the negotiations. However the Basque coach didn’t mention the name of this defender. As it was appointed since Monday, the media in Galicia still convinced that the selected man is Diego Colotto or Jonathan Bottinelli.

Diego Colotto (27) and Jonathan Bottinelli (23) continue to be the main candidates in order to replace Fabricio Coloccini. It seems that Deportivo is negotiation in two fronts as the media in La Coru?a confirms contacts with their respective clubs, Atlas de Guadalajara and San Lorenzo de Almagro. An interesting fact is that coach Lotina talked in Venezuela and said that he already phoned the selected choice, but he didn’t want to mention the name of this player. He also revealed the negotiations will start until the squad returns to La Coru?a (Friday).

Sportpaper AS talked with the Argentinean defender and he admitted the interest of Deportivo ?Fabricio (Coloccini) was with me in the national squad and we have stayed in touch. He told me wonderful things about Depor and also about the prestige of this club. My dream is to play someday in Europe and right now I have the option of Depor. Logically I’m excited and willing to prove myself in la liga, because it’s attractive. It’s a proud to know that a great club is looking at me or that I’m part of its list of reinforcements. Let’s hope I will be able to play there, however no concrete offers have arrived.?

It seems the problem is that Atlas still fearing to lose a key piece in its squad now that the Mexican tournament already started; besides Depor hasn’t accelerated the negotiations since the exit of Coloccini was the priority. But now things could change as Colo is on his way to England. Deporte Campe??n (DxT) even speculates that Deportivo could be ready to offer the €4 million requested by Atlas for the defender.

But it seems this isn’t the only choice over the desk. Newspaper La Opinion A Coru?a talked with the agent and father of Jonathan Botinelli, Juan Carlos Bottinelli, he told to the Galician paper that an intermediary –Antonio Guardiola- phoned him and revealed that Deportivo was ready to offer €3.5 million to San Lorenzo.

It seems the Argentinean club is asking for €5 million, but the father of the defender revealed that his son has the last word ?His contract ended on the season 2006/2007, and we didn’t sign an extension for the campaign 2007/2008, but he kept playing because in Argentina, in cases like this one, the player continued receiving the same salary. We lived like this during fourteen months, without contract. Therefore we could put some pressure and denounce the case in FIFA in case that San Lorenzo isn’t accepting the offer of La Coru?a. That’s why I asked to the intermediary for a fax with the logo and the offer from Depor. After that fax arrives, we will know what to do if San Lorenzo isn’t accepting.?
