Lotina seems to have clear ideas about the line-up for Sunday’s visit to El Madrigal. As the Basque announced earlier on the week, he’s thinking in making rotations taking in mind the long journey of the international players and the upcoming UEFA game with SK Brann. In Villarreal, the casualties are the main worry of the fans.

Wednesday was a key day for Lotina, because it was the day in which he tested the line-up for Sunday’s game against Villarreal. The squad worked without four international players: De Guzm??n, Aouate, Omar Bravo and Andr?s Guardado. But Rodolfo Bodipo and Fabricio were already with the group. Fabril’s Seoane, Arturo, Guille, Chema, Chirri and Marcos Val?n were also working with the first squad.

The line-up tested by the Basque coach was: Aranzubia on goal, a line of four defenders with Laure at the right-back position, Filipe Luis on the left and the duo Lopo-Z? Castro in the middle. Sergio and Juan Rodr?guez played in midfield but it seems that Lotina will wait to see De Guzm??n on Friday in order to take a final decision about who will start the game against Villarreal. What seems clear now is that Pablo ?lvarez will play in the right wing and that Joan Verd?? will continue in the playmaking function. As it was appointed before, ?ngel Lafita will probably play on the left wing, while Mista will be the lonely striker.

On Thursday the squad only made a recuperation session in which the players completed some specific exercises at Abegondo. The squad will train today during the morning (10h30) and it’s expected that Aouate, de Guzm??n, Omar Bravo and Guardado will join the group for this training.

After Thursday’s training, Albert Lopo talked in the press room and appointed the whole squad is hoping for a new win on Sunday ?The idea is to add the three points and to stay at the top. El Madrigal has always been a positive stadium for us and we hope the positive streak will continue.?

But he warned that Villarreal will be a tough rival despite the casualties ?Villarreal has great players and despite they have several casualties, I don’t think it will affect them. They are a very good block, with players like Senna and Cazorla, and for that reason they have spent so many years at the top.? Another thing that called the attention was his words related to his future ?I will love to fulfill my contract on here. I prefer to hear your questions about my renewal rather to see you asking me about leaving to another club.?

The list of absentees is growing at Villarreal. It’s true that Guille Franco is now fit to play, but the squad still missing Josmer Altidore (unfit) and Nihat Kahveci (knee) in the striking zone plus Robert Pires (hamstring strain) in midfield. And now defender ?ngel L??pez (muscular problem) and striker Guiseppe Rossi (knee) are doubtful for Sunday’s game. Villarreal will even miss the presence of coach Manuel Pellegrini after he decided to travel to Argentina in order to face the disease of his mother. This means that second coach Ruben Cousillas will be on the bench for the game.

At least the international players of Villarreal have shined with their squads. Because ex-Depor Joan Capdevila and Marcos Senna scored a goal during Wednesday’s victory of Spain over Armenia. In that same match Santiago Cazorla debuted as starter. Besides, Matias Fern??ndez scored a goal in Chile’s win over Colombia (4-0).
