The starting lineup for the upcoming game at the Riazor is taking shape, not for the strategy of Lotina in the trainings, but for the injury cases. And it’s that Z?© Castro will miss the clash due to an ankle sprain while Antonio Tom??s and De Guzm??n still fighting with their own injuries. Meanwhile, Espanyol arrives to La Coru?±a without De La Pe?±a and Jarque.

It seemed that Lotina was prepared to repeat a starting eleven in two straight games for the first time in eight months, but the plans have been changed after Z?© Castro got injured during Thursday’s training. The Portuguese central defender suffered and ankle sprain during the session and he left the pitch with a lot of pain. Now doctors expect that he will be out of action for two weeks.

Z?© Castro was a starter in the last liga encounter against Real Betis, and now the doors are opened for Diego Colotto. The Argentinean was sent off in the previous liga game against Sporting Gij??n and he will return for this game. It’s very probable that Lotina will trust in him and in Albert Lopo to cover the centre of the defence. The sides will continue to be territory for Manuel Pablo and Filipe Luis.

Midfield seems to be other zone marked by the injuries. Julian De Guzm??n is out for three weeks due to a thigh injury while Antonio Tom??s still fighting to be fit for the clash with Espanyol. Like the case of Z?© Castro, the Cantabrian player suffered an ankle sprain, he trained without problems on Thursday, but Lotina doesn’t know yet if he will totally fit for Sunday. Therefore the most probable thing is to see Sergio and Juan Rodr?guez covering the sector against the Catalans.

The offensive positions are a mystery for the moment. Lotina hasn’t probed yet any formation though it’s expected he will continue to trust in Riki and Angel Lafita as his main references up front. These two men conquered the goals that gave the last victory over Betis. Other question is to know if Joan Verd?? will keep his place as the playmaker of the formation. More certain should be the participation of Andr?©s Guardado on the left wing after his good match at the Luis de Lopera.

The Catalan side will arrive to La Coru?±a without Iv??n De la Pe?±a and Daniel Jarque. De la Pe?±a suffered a groin strain during the past game with Osasuna and he will be out of action for five weeks. The Santander-born playmaker is a fixed option at the squad and his skills will be missed. Meanwhile Jarque picked his fifth yellow card of the season in the same game against Osasuna and he’s suspended against Depor. The Catalan defender is the only field player at the squad that has participated in all the minutes in liga.

Coach â€?Tintin’ Marquez hasn’t decided yet who will replace De la Pe?±a, but the place of Jarque should be for Jes??s Mari Lacruz, Navarran veteran that has just played one game as starter on this season. He will be the partner of Argentinean Nicolas Pareja in the centre of the defence. Other defenders that will miss the clash at the Riazor are Francisco Javier Chica (groin), Steve Finnan (muscular problem) and Marc Torrej??n (ankle sprain).
