Dani Aranzubia is RCDLC.com's Player of the month for September and October. This based on the International Pena forum's ratings. Starting on this campaign, the website will publish a list with the best man for Depor in each one of the months in which the squad competes during the normal season. The selected man is chosen between the pe?±a members of RCDLC.com.

For months September and October, Daniel Aranzubia was consistently named in the top 3 performers by Depor fans in the international Pena forum rating system. The rating system is performed by giving three evaluations to the best 3 players in the opinion of the members for a particular match. Five points for the best player, three for the second place and one for the third. The points are then added for each game and the first three places in this global count earn 5, 3 and 1 point. Then the points are added for a global table which can be seen at the bottom of this article.

In September, Aranzubia managed to achieve 2 MOM (Man of the match) awards, as well as a 2nd and 3rd place in the rated matches by our Pena members. His first MOM performance occurred in the first match of September, it was the away loss against Villarreal. Aranzubia managed to limit El Submarino Amarillo to just one goal in a complicated game for Depor at El Madrigal.

Aranzubia's second MOM award came in the following game away to Norwegian side SK Brann in the 2nd qualifying round for the UEFA Cup. Depor's performance in Norway was one of the team's worst this season, with Aranzubia proving to be the only hero limiting the goal count to just two on this occasion.

Another solid performance came in another disappointing result for Depor at home against Mallorca. Aranzubia was rated 2nd best player in a frustrating 0-0 for Depor. In this particular game, it was Filipe Luis who denied Aranzubia a hat-trick of MOM awards.

Aranzubia ended September with a 3rd best player rating against Valencia in another defeat for Depor. It was a month that Lotina and his team had to put behind them. The team had not won a game in the whole month, recording 3 losses and 2 draws in 5 games and scoring just 2 goals.

October began positively for Depor and Aranzubia. The team's first challenge came at home against SK Brann, to which the team trailed by two goals from the first leg. Thanks to two goals from Man of the Match Colotto, the match went to penalties with Aranzubia saving 3 decisive penalties. Aranzubia was rated 3rd best player for the game, with Lafita coming 2nd.

His first MOM award for the month came in the 3-0 defeat away to CSKA Moscow. Like in many previous matches on this season, Aranzubia was the shining star in a lacklusture performance by Deportivo. The following game proved to be the same in the 3-0 home defeat Sporting Gij??n, which was one of the most surprising results of the season.

In truth, Aranzubia has started his Deportivo career in a real positive fashion, proving already a fans favourite’. Curiously though, in the games Aranzubia was rated MOM, the games ended in defeat for Depor. In someway, a sad reflection on Depor's outfield players in those games.

Aranzubia currently leads by a single point from Andres Guardado, who won the August player of the month award for three man of match awards’ in a row in the games against Hajduk Split and Real Madrid.
