Sixth confrontation between Lotina and Lucas Alcaraz, so far the current coach of Recreativo has just defeated Lotina once. Depor’s manager is hoping to see his team achieving a victory in the last game of the season, while Alcaraz was praising the performance of Depor in 2008.

This is the second period of Luis Lucas Alcaraz as the coach of Recreativo de Huelva, he was the manager that took back the Andalusian squad to Primera Divisi??n for the season 2002/2003. After one year in the elite, he was fired and later coached Racing Santander and Real Murcia, this last club during the past season.

Despite Alcaraz’s father is a well known politician, his family has been always linked with football. His grandfather Jos?© Gonz??lez was a player of Real Madrid during the 40’s, while his uncle, Jos?© Manuel Gonz??lez, played for Zaragoza during the 70’s. No matter his age (42), Alcaraz already accumulates 635 matches as a professional coach, 301 of those games were completed between Primera and Segunda Divisi??n plus 32 for Copa Del Rey.

It’s the sixth confrontation between Miguel Angel Lotina and Alcaraz at Primera Divisi??n, Lotina has won four of the past five meetings, including the last one as his Deportivo defeated Alcaraz’s Murcia on the first round of the past season (2-0). The only time in which the Granada-born coach was able to defeat Lotina was on the season 2003/2004 as his Racing Santander defeated Lotina’s Celta at Balaidos (0-1)

Depor’s coach talked at Abegondo’s press room on Friday, he wanted to warn about Recreativo, team that he appointed as a dangerous rival, We will enjoy of some deserved vacations, but first we must defeat Recreativo. Any team in the Spanish league is much more difficult that several rivals in UEFA. Recreativo is a team that has been working really well and they have a coach with experience at Primera Divisi??n.

Later the Basque manager was defining the year 2008 as a very positive moment for his team, It's been a very good year. As coach I have seen many players really flourish and that gives you great satisfaction. At first, the change in the philosophy was a struggle. We confused playing beautiful football with playing well, and when we did more of the latter, the results started to come.

Despite the good year, Lotina knows that his team still has the chance to keep growing, something that’s now his challenge for 2009, "We still have room for improvement, individually and collectively, and I am very excited about next year. The squad is everyday reaching the point we want, and we are really hopeful about the UEFA and Copa, without forgetting the importance of la liga.'' He said.

The coach of Recreativo gave a press conference on Friday, just one day before the trip to La Coru?±a. He was saying that his team needs to be adding points in order to fight for the permanence at the end of the season, â€?A victory is important, not because we can leave the drop zone, but for the points. One thing comes with the other, but now is more important to keep adding points.â€?

The Andalusian coach didn’t want to give any clue about the lineup that he will use at the Riazor, he preferred to emphasise the attitude that Recreativo needs for the game, Now the things are at our side, because we need to have a plus in all the concepts, this in order to carry out with this game. Later he insisted that right now it doesn’t matter the position of Recre’ in the table, because what matter are the standings at the end of May, Nothing is determinant for the moment.

About the rival, Alcaraz was assuring that Deportivo means a tough task for Recreativo, â€?We all know it is going to be a complicate game, we are facing a team that’s strong at home and that will demand a big effort from us. Deportivo La Coru?±a is a team that has kept the same road of the last second round, they are shinning in UEFA. They have a good coach and also have good players.â€?

Finally, the Granada-born manager was convinced that no matter the effort done by Depor in mid-week, Recreativo should be more worried about its own work, They didn’t suffer any injury case, Depor rotated players for their midweek UEFA Cup game, but we should worry more about what we are going to do. We need to focus on picking up points not just to get out of the relegation places, but to try and build on our upturn in fortunes.
