Lotina will have to face the game without Verd?? and Z?© Castro, but Antonio Tomas, Sergio and Juan Rodriguez are back. Meanwhile, at Atletico, Perea is suspended, while everybody is worried about the future of the club.

Deportivo has been preparing the clash with Atletico Madrid since Tuesday, it’s an important confrontation since both clubs are fighting for Europe. For the occasion, coach Miguel Angel Lotina will not be able to count with Joan Verd?? and Z?© Castro. The Catalan midfielder is suspended after picking his fifth yellow card on the season against RCD Espanyol, while the Portuguese central defender can’t face Atletico since it’s his parent club, this no matter the club paid his buyout clause on the past week.

Precisely, the absence of Z?© Castro is the fact creating the main doubts to Lotina, because Adri??n L??pez â€?Piscu’ is almost discarded for the game due to an ankle sprain, injury suffered by the Galician central defender just one day before the game against Espanyol. The Basque coach still has to decide if he will stay playing with Pablo Amo joining Albert Lopo at the centre of the defence, or if instead, he will allow the return of Diego Colotto, option used by him when Z?© Castro was injured.

A novelty on Wednesday’s training was that Andr?©s Guardado didn’t take part of the session due to gastroenteritis, while Riki (ankle) and Lassad Nouioui (hamstring) were out for the second straight day. However, the doctors at the squad expect that these three men will be fit to play on Sunday. Another two players that will be ready are Rodolfo Bodipo and Antonio Tom??s (both hamstring strain), they are coming out from an injury and have been training without problems.

But who are already discarded for the confrontation at the Riazor are right-back Manuel Pablo (Soleus) and striker Mista (pubalgy), both have been training with the physiotherapist of the club and nobody knows yet when they could be returning.

Meanwhile, the tension is rising inside of Atletico Madrid, the defeat at home against Osasuna has just increased the criticism against coach Abel Resinos and the media has been talking more about next season than about the European chances for the present campaign. Actually, the papers in Madrid have been appointing that Resinos will leave the club if the team doesn’t qualify to the Champions League, while important players like Kun’ Aguero would be sold.

To make things worse, there are internal fights inside the locker room. The main one is between Resinos and Maniche. The Portuguese played his last game against Porto in Champions League. Since then, he has stayed out of the squad during the last three liga games: Villarreal, Mallorca and Osasuna. The last two defeats and the poor impression left in midfield have pushed some journalists to demand the return of Maniche, though it seems this won’t occur in the short-term.

About the game at the Riazor, Resinos is recovering Maxi Rodr?guez (knee) and John Heitinga (eye), both men missed the game with Osasuna due to injury reasons. Mariano Pern?a is also fit to play after he was replaced at half-time on the past weekend due to an ankle problem. However, Atletico’s coach is losing two of his main choices to cover the right-back position: Luis Amaranto Perea due to suspension, and Antonio L??pez due to a thigh problem. However, Heitinga should be the one taking the spot.
