First confrontation between Lotina and Hugo S??nchez. Depor’s coach was calling for the support from the fans, while he was also saying that Lafita might not have too many minutes from here to the end of season.

Hugo S??nchez M??rquez is a Mexican coach that became a legendary player at Real Madrid as he won five Pichichi trophies in the 80’s (1985, 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1990) plus the golden boot of the season 1989/1990. He was even picked as the best CONCACAF’s player of the XX century by the International Federation of football history and statistics (IFFHS).

The Mexican began his career as a coach in 2000 with Pumas UNAM and won two straight titles: Clasura & Apertura 2004. Then he coached the national team of Mexico between the years 2006 and 2008, but was fired due the poor results and some internal conflicts. On December 22nd, 2008, he was hired as the coach of UD Almeria after Gonzalo Arconada was fired due the poor results of the squad. This is the first confrontation, as a coach, for the Mexican marksman against Miguel Angel Lotina. It’s also the first time he visits the Riazor, because he never did it with Real Madrid or Rayo Vallecano during his stage as a player.

Depor’s trainer talked to reporters at Abegondo’s press room after the last training of the squad, he was targeting Europe and appoints that Deportivo needs more than ever before the support from the fans, "We are betting on the UEFA and it's time to see the fans pushing us to Europe. When the public has been with us, the squad has shown a great level and it is important for us."

In recent hours it has been informed that president Lendoiro will negotiate incentives with the players in case they finally achieve the qualification to Europe, something that was commented by the coach, The prestige of been playing in Europe represents more than a check, that’s for me and for the players. If later they give you something, well it’s phenomenal.

About the rival, Lotina is aware of the negative record of Almeria as a visitor, but he warned about the presence of Negredo, They have something we don’t have: a striker capable of scoring 20 goals per season. But we do have other good things, we can’t rest merits to our squad when we already have 46 points.

The Basque manager didn’t want to confirm if Bodipo and Valer??n will be starters in the game, contrary to this, he preferred to talk about the players he expect to have for the upcoming clash with Malaga, I think that Lafita and Riki will be fit for Saturday, but things are more complicated in the case of Lopo.

A thing that called the attention were the words of Lotina regardless to Lafita, player that might end at Zaragoza, Lafita made us a big favor in these two years, and we have helped him to grow and to be an appealing player for other clubs. From now on, it is logical that other players would have minutes." Words interpreted by the media as a good-bye to Lafita and the confirmation that Pablo Alvarez and Cristian will now have more minutes.

The Mexican coach, famous for his declarations in his country and his desire to coach Real Madrid in the upcoming future, didn’t give a press conference ahead of the clash. He just traveled with his squad to La Coru?±a on Tuesday’s afternoon after the last training session.

On Monday, S??nchez said after the victory over Osasuna that Almeria played a bad game against Mallorca in a the previous visit, and that the win over the Navarran team was washing away that image, Since I arrived here, the only game in which we didn’t show a solid level was against Mallorca. We gave the best impression against Villarreal, and seven days later the worst against Mallorca.

In a previous interview with Sportpaper AS, the Mexican manager was admitting the need of the team in order to start winning matches away from home, So far we have only conquered draws away from home. However, in our field, we have shown to all the teams that we are strong, with the exception of Barcelona. We have to be invincible here, but it’s necessary to gain points outside. The victory away from home has to come, but things are like this and we’re obliged to win at home. Far from here, except in the last match at Mallorca, we played well, but we have not been practical.
