ALBERT LOPO COULD HAVE A DEAL WITH DEPOR

17 Feb 2006
On Thursday deportivo-la-coruna.com reported that Lendoiro is negotiating the incorporation of Albert Lopo for the next season. Yesterday newspaper La Voz de Galicia confirmed that the deal is signed since the first days of February.

La Voz wrote that the contract of the player will consist in five seasons at Deportivo, period in which the Catalan defender will earn €7.5 million. The same source claims that the deal was signed by the player's agent at the beginning of the month. Sportpaper Marca also confirmed the existence of this deal. The Catalan ends his contract in June and Deportivo will only need to pay the formation rights to Espanyol.

Albert Lopo Garc?a as played all his professional life with the Catalan club, he is a former partner of Capdevila and Sergio during their first days in the first squad. So far Lopo has played 164 matches in Primera and has scored nine goals. The Galicians intensified the negotiations with him when they noticed that Sevilla and Valencia were after the central defender.

If the signing is finally confirmed Deportivo will have five defenders for the central positions: Pablo Amo, Jorge Andrade, Fabricio Coloccini, Lopo and Juanma. The 25-year-old defender could be an important reinforcement taking in mind that C?©sar will leave in June and also that Andrade could be send to the Premiership.

It seems that Lopo is the second incorporation that Lendoiro has prepared for the centenario season. In this sense the papers La Voz, AS and Marca agree to point out the existence of another deal with the Galician winger Pablo ?lvarez. The case of Juan Rodr?guez is more uncertain, AS and La Voz affirms that the Malaga's midfielder has an agreement with Lendoiro since November, but Marca says that Atl?©tico Madrid will sign him at the end of the season. For the moment Deportivo will not make any official comment about this issue until the season is over.

DUSCHER ADMITS CONTACTS WITH MANCHESTER UNITED
Aldo Duscher has admitted that Manchester United is trying to sign him, but the Argentinean midfielder said that for the moment he's only thinking in Depor: "Is good to hear that a big club like that is interested in me. But my mind is now in Deportivo, maybe at the end of the season we can talk about it and I admit that they already contacted me." According to the English paper Sunday Mirror the Premiership's club is ready to pay €10 million for Duscher.
