Albert Lopo is the main novelty ahead of Sunday’s clash against Valladolid, the Catalan already started to work and could be part of the match. At the other side, the rival is arriving after passing through its worst moment and with several casualties.

The main news on Tuesday was to see Albert Lopo training again at Abegondo, though he did it apart from the group. The Catalan central defender suffered a stress fracture in a knee muscle (Soleus) during a training session in the week before the visit to Athletic Bilbao. Coach Lotina was hoping to count with him for the clash at la Rosaleda, but his comeback was delayed for this week.

Now all appoints the ex-Espanyol man will be fit to face Real Valladolid. However, Lotina still has to decide if he wants to complete changes in his starting squad. Because in the last three liga games, Lotina has used the couple Diego Colotto - Ze Castro at the centre of the defence and the team has only allowed one goal in those three games.

Other player retuning is Joan Verd?? (toe), the Catalan missed the last game at Malaga and now he’s fit to play. Who still sidelined are Antonio Tom??s (thigh), Piscu (ankle) and Mista (pubis). Meanwhile, Andr?s Guardado and Dani Aranzubia missed Tuesday’s training, though both had permission to skip the session.

After the training ended, coach Miguel Angel Lotina talked at Abegondo’s press room, he was hoping that Depor will have European chances at the last matchdays of la liga, "Clearly, the week has been very good for us. In both aspects: points added and the game practiced. The team has been very solid, with great ambition. Looking at the standings and the remaining schedule, we must go for the UEFA, we must fight for it. This consists on having options to enter Europe during the last matchdays."

The Basque manager didn’t want to mention a certain number of points as the target for the UEFA qualification, instead he emphasised the importance of the next three matchdays, ?Rather than think of a specific number of points, we need to focus on making a good work before the games with Sevilla and Barcelona. Later it depends on whether they have secured their place at the table, but the three previous matchdays are our thing."

At the other side of the story, Real Valladolid arrives to the Riazor living its worst moment of the season, with only two points added within the last six matchdays. To make things worse, a plague of injuries is currently smashing the squad. Eight players missed Monday’s training, and three of them might be even missing the rest of the season. Including Pedro Le??n, winger that crushed Depor in the first round game. He is suffering an injury in the pubis region, the idea of the doctors was to stop him as soon as the permanence was secured. But he was replaced in the last game with Osasuna and new problems have been detected, reason why Le??n may even pass through surgery.

The other two players in troubles are central defender Jos? Antonio Garc?a Calvo and midfielder Vivar Dorado. The first one has a toe injured, the case has been affecting the defender since the past season and he was even contemplating the idea of the retirement. Meanwhile, Dorado has tear in a muscle on the Achilles region and the doctors have advised him to follow a special treatment that might leave him out of action during the rest of the season. These three men are already discarded for the game against Depor.

Other five men have different physical problems: ?lvaro Rubio (hamstring), Marcos (quadriceps contusion), Jonathan Sesma (adductor), Borja (back), and ?scar S??nchez (muscular edema). Their cases aren’t too serious and coach Mendilibar hopes they will be ready for Sunday’s game in La Coru?a.
