REVIEW: RACING VILALBES 1 – FABRIL 3 (TERCERA)

09 Oct 2009
New victory for a Deportivo B that’s now the leader and the only unbeaten team at the Galician group of Tercera División. The team convinced with its game and 20-year-old Hugo Garcia was the hero with two goals scored.

BEFORE THE GAME
Midfielder Dani Rodríguez was returning from suspension and went directly into the starting lineup of Tito Ramallo. His entry for Héctor meant the only modification compared to the squad that defeated Ourense in the previous match. Marcos Valín was at the goal, Seoane at the right-back position, Raúl at the left side and the couple Rochela-Vieytes played at the centre of the defence.

At midfield Dani joined Juan Dominguez in the pivote functions, Luis Angel played at the right wing and David Añon continued on the left side. Juan Carlos was the playmaker and Hugo García was the lonely striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The rival was Racing Villalbés, a recent promoted club to Tercera that’s coached by José Antonio Cambón, one of the coaches with more experience at Tercera División. They were just one point above relegation and already suffered one defeat at home (1-2 Vs Naron). Midfielder Adrián Valín, the brother of Fabril’s keeper Marcos, was sited on the bench.

THE MATCH
Another solid presentation of Fabril, the visitors enjoyed of eight attempts to score plus eight corner-kicks just in the first half, and Ramallo’s boys were leading the game with a two-goal advantage after just twenty-eight minutes. This time Hugo Garcia shone with two goals and with a shot that hit the post. Also important was the job done by Juan Dominguez, David Añon and Luis Angel.

The first chance for Fabril meant the 0-1 in the scoresheet, Luis Angel Curra found a rebound in the area after a corner-kick and his right-footed effort couldn’t be stopped by goalkeeper Ángel. It’s the third goal in liga for the Canarian player that arrived one year ago from UD Vecindario.

But Deportivo B wasn’t satisfied with the narrow win and continued attacking, minutes after the goal central defender Diego Vieytes hit the crossbar after heading a free-kick of Luis Angel. Who didn’t miss his first chance was Hugo Garcia, the play started with a long throw of Diego Seoane that Juan Dominguez converted into a perfect pass and the Ourense-born striker didn’t miss from close range.

Fabril even had the chance to reach half-time with a bigger score, but the long-range effort of Juan Carlos missed the target, then Luis Angel couldn’t bet local keeper Ángel in a one-on-one action, while the volley of Juan Dominguez passed near to the post. The lonely occasion of Racing Vilalbes during the first part came after a bad pass of Rochela, then Dani attempted from mid-distance, but Marcos Valín made the save.

The situation was the same during the second part; Depor B was having the ball and enjoyed of the best occasions to score more goals. The first chance was a new one-on-one action between Luis Angel and the local keeper Ángel, the rebound ended on the boots of Hugo Garcia, but the striker could only hit the post. Two minutes later the locals reduced the distance through a penalty shot.

The penalty was caused by Raúl after the side defender pulled a rival inside the area, Justino scored the lonely goal for Racing Vilalbes. But that goal didn’t change the picture, because Fabril continued dominating the actions. The first two changes ordered by Ramallo were the entries of Héctor and Diego Vela for Juan Carlos and Juan Dominguez,

And thirteen minutes before the end Fabril found the third goal. The play was made by David Añon and resulted into a pass that Hugo Garcia connected from the ground. The striker is on fire, because it’s the fourth goal in liga for him and also the fourth within his last four presentations. With the victory secured, Ramallo allowed the entry of French Karl, who replaced Vieytes at the centre of the defence.

AFTER THE GAME
It was a convincing presentation of Deportivo B, Ramallo’s team had thirteen occasions to score a goal, and in this match they scored three times while the ball hit the posts twice. Hugo Garcia still adding goals to his tally and now he is the Pichichi at the team with four goals.

The result leaves Deportivo B as the lonely leader at the Galician group of Tercera División (17 points in 7 matches). And it’s that the defeats of Coruxo at Celtiga and Alondras at Pontevedra B mean that Fabril is now the only undefeated team in the group. On Saturday Ramallo’s team is hosting 19th place Somozas at Abegondo (17h00 CET).

Comments of Tito Ramallo: ”We are working well within the last weeks and you can notice that on the pitch. Matchday after matchday we can see a Fabril that’s maturing. Now we are first in the group, I always like to be at the top and it’s positive, but neither can we fool ourselves with this. Now we must try to follow the same line.”
