Lotina is once again making changes in defence as Raúl and Colotto will join Lopo and Laure at the defensive line, the rest of the lineup is a mystery. At Almeria, the only casualty is defender Chico.

Deportivo urgently needs a victory in order to erase the negative streak of seven straight matches without adding a victory in liga, that’s why the three points are so important for the next clash with UD Almeria (Sunday, 17h00 CET). Coach Miguel Angel Lotina still analysing the options in attack, but the defensive sector seems defined. Starting with the fact that Manuel Pablo is suspended after picking his fifth yellow card of the season against Barcelona.

Anyhow Lotina was thinking in resting the Canarian has he has been dragging a tendonitis since some weeks ago, but now his exit from the starting eleven is a forced situation. Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’ will cover his position at the right side, while Fabril’s Raúl Garcia will play his second game as starter covering the left sector.

It’s also expected that Diego Colotto will return to play at the centre of the defence; Lotina rested the Argentine because he had four yellows and didn’t want to risk a possible suspension in a game that already was considered difficult. The ex-Atlas has been a starter since matchday 04. His partner at the centre should be Albert Lopo, though the Catalan didn’t complete Friday’s training due to a thigh problem.

The rest of the lineup is a mystery; at midfield and in the attacking line the coach has all the players available with the exception of Juca, who still working in his recovery in Brazil. Lassad Nouioui didn’t complete Friday’s training due to a muscular problem, neither Juan Dominguez, who isn’t totally fit after surpassing an ankle sprain, but both aren’t serious cases and should be present to face Almeria.

It seems that the players are aware of seriousness of the situation, as Andrés Guardado talked to reporters after Friday’s training, “We can’t cheat anybody saying that nothing will happen if we lose on Sunday, because practically it’s our last chance to reach the European positions and we’re going to try. The true is that we still failing, without continuing with the work done in the first round. We must win no matter how we play. We want to end the liga with dignity.”

At Almeria, coach Juan Manuel Lillo will only have the casualty of central defender José Manuel Flores Moreno ‘Chico’, who already started to train after surpassing a muscular injury, but the Andalusian player still missing match fitness and will not travel to the Riazor. Almeria is also living a negative moment as the team has missed a victory in liga within the last four matches.

Another of the news on Friday was to know that Diego Alves is now one of the targets for Real Madrid; the Brazilian keeper made 15 saves against the Madrilenians in the last match and now the papers in Madrid appoints that he is one of the candidates to replace Dudek. The buy-out option of the keeper is fifteen million Euros.
