REACTIONS TO THE DEFEAT IN LIGA

07 May 2010
New defeat in liga and new poor performance of Deportivo; Lotina no longer find explanations to the situation, while in Pamplona Camacho is happy since the permanence has been secured.

Coach Miguel Ángel Lotina was trying to explain what he saw in this new defeat of his team, “We noticed the pressure of the rival in the first part and never controlled the ball possession. We just were standing up and gave too many facilities in the first goals. In the second part we improved with the ball. We were able to stop Osasuna, side that was now tired, but still we missed depth. We tried to have more ball possession with Lassad and tried to gain depth with Sergio, but since that point the game was stuck and we just hold on. ”

Later he told to reporters to be “tired” of giving excuses for the poor game practiced by the team, “I told my players at halftime that we are playing for some stuff and that a match at Primera can't be played just for the pleasure of doing it, a lot of people reach the end of their career without playing at Primera. If we don't play with tension then we are a normal team. We made things look easy for Osasuna and they put the intensity into the game; it was clear they were playing for the permanence. If we would have scored the 3-2 with the header of Lopo then we could have had more options, but it wasn’t like that."

Only two players talked to reporters after the game the first one was Diego Colotto, the Argentine defender is conscious of the low point lived by the team, but still defending the effort done by the players, “We gave them for free the first two goals, and later things were complicated. We neither can’t criticise the effort done by the team, but committed some errors that later were too expensive. This isn’t the impression that we want to leave. We must win a game before going to vacations, we can’t leave like this.”

Later the other central defender, Albert Lopo, was admitting the guilt of the players, "We still have to play two matches and must defend this shield and the shirt, and also to do a better job than the one made so far, because so far nobody deserves to wear this shirt we are carrying on."

On Thursday, youngster David Añon talked to Radio Onda Cero and analysed his debut as a starter, “I will never forget this day, it’s the hope of every kid and more for a fan like me, it will always be with me. These are pretty memories, like been in the match against Milan and now to see me performing alongside players that made history at the club, or against Pandiani, it is something that I will keep with me.”

At Osasuna, coach José Antonio Camacho was feeling pleased with the fact that his team has finally achieved the salvation, “The past game at the Bernabéu escaped from our hands and against Deportivo we did enough. We scored the goals in the first part and in the second couldn’t take risks with the score. In the past we lost points in interesting moments, at times we were missing punch in attack. Now my players have fulfilled their duties.”

Ex-Depor Walter Pandiani was giving his opinion about the situation at the Navarran team, “This year we won’t suffer, we still have two games and people already can be relaxed, and I believe they should be also content for the things done by Osasuna, because, seeing what happened in past years, it’s something to be proud. I know people were expecting more from me, but it was hard to be adapted to this city. I adapted quickly to the environment at the changing room, because it’s good, but I was coming from a different city with a different culture. Now I’m only thinking of next year, let’s see what happens. I still have two years in my contract and hope to be able to continue.”
