Today Michel became into the first official signing for the season 2010/11 as Deportivo and Valencia signed a loan contract that doesn’t include a buyout option. The 21-years-old playmaker is a personal petition of Lotina.

It was a quick operation, though president Lendoiro and especially coach Miguel Angel Lotina have been chasing the player since the past summer. On Friday Miguel Alfonso Javaloyas Herrero "Míchel" became into the first reinforcement for the season 2010/2011 as Deportivo and Valencia signed a one-year loan contract that doesn’t include a buyout option.

Precisely, the fact of having or not a buyout option over the 21-year-old playmaker was the last detail that Lendoiro was trying to solve. Depor’s president doesn’t like to sign players under these conditions, but this time he made an exception as Lotina was sighing for him and also because other clubs were trying to close a similar deal with Valencia.

As compensation Depor got the permission to use the player in any official game against Valencia during the season 2010/2011. The Galician club will also pay the 100% of the player’s wages.  Lendoiro will probably try to negotiate the buyout option in the coming months, but it will be hard as Valencia doesn’t want to lose the player as is considered a very talented playmaker.

The fact that made possible his arrival is a private conversation had by the same Lotina with Michel, he will arrive to La Coruña on Sunday and will pass the medicals on Monday. In this way Lotina is getting a reinforcement for the playmaking function, role that only Valerón and Ivan Perez have been performing lately, an spot that was  even occupied by Pablo Alvarez during the season that has just ended.

Michel Herrero is a very young promise that has been growing at Valencia Mestalla (Valencia B), but that already has some experience with Spain’s U-21 squad (4 matches) and that already played 17 Primera matches, plus two Copa confrontations . The fame of the playmaker has been growing so much that he already signed a sponsorship contract with British sportswear Umbro.

Also, the media is convinced that Deportivo already has an agreement with right winger Saúl Fernández (25, Elche FC). Actually, the deal seems to exist since some weeks ago, but it won’t be made official until the Segunda season ends at the middle of June.
