THE LATEST ON FILIPE’S CASE

05 Jul 2010
It seems that the negotiations with Atletico Madrid are stuck, while Deportivo is waiting for an official offer coming from Inter. At the same time new names are mentioned as possible substitutes for the Brazilian defender.

Everything indicates that on Thursday Filipe Luis will start the pre-season with Deportivo; and it’d that the negotiations with Atletico Madrid stay in the same dead point. The latest thing known is that president Lendoiro has rejected to include midfielders Ignacio Camacho (20) and Mario Suarez (23) as part of the operation, instead he is asking for fifteen million Euros.

According to Sportpaper AS the only player that Lendoiro would include in the negotiations for Filipe is striker Diego Costa (22), someone that has been praised by Lotina due to his skills on the pitch. Meanwhile, the club is waiting to receive an official offer from Inter Milan or Liverpool FC, two clubs that were linked with the Brazilian player during the week.

Despite Filipe seems to be staying, new names have been reported as possible substitutes in case the Brazilian leaves.  The last four are Marek Cehc (27, West Bromwich Albion), Asier Del Horno (29, Valencia), Sergio Escudero (20, Real Murcia) and Argentine Claudio Morel (32, Boca Juniors).

A few weeks ago Depor Sport wrote a long list of the candidates that the club has been contemplated for the job, the main two were Sébastien Pocognoli (22, Standard Liege) and Oscar Wendt (24, FC Copenhagen). While other candidates that were mentioned are: Diogo Silvestre Bittencourt (20, Sao Paulo), Joe Mattock ( 20, West Bromwich Albion), Davide Brivio (22, Vicenza), David Vrzogic (21, Borussia Dortmund), Manuel Pamic (23, Sparta Prague), Bruno Teles (24, Vitoria SC), Andreas Ulmer (24, Red Bull Salzburg) and Denis Odoi (22, Sint-Truiden).
