On Wednesday, Lotina ordered a training match between Deportivo and Fabril in order to test some players, specifically the cases of Urreta and Lassad. Before the match, the coach talked at the press room of Abegondo.

Coach Miguel Ángel Lotina still polishing some details with his system of five defenders; on Wednesday he organized a training match between the first team and Deportivo B, this in order to witness the performance of both teams using the same scheme. The Basque man is eager to see his players getting used to the new system, actually he told to reporters that one of the reasons for this match was to see Laure acting at the right side of the defense.

The training match was also helpful to see the current state of the players that are coming out from injures, more concrete the cases of Knut Rindarøy (hamstring), Jonathan Urreta (ankle) and Lassad Nouioui (ankle sprain). The three of them were starters in the game and are ready to be picked for Sunday’s match against Racing Santander.

The lineup used at the first team was: Manu - Laure, Ze Castro, Rochela, Colotto, Rindarøy - Antonio Tomás, Juan Dominguez - Urreta, Valerón - Lassad. The match lasted one hour and was divided in two periods of thirty minutes, in the second part Desmarets, Pablo Álvarez, Aythami and Dioni played for a few minutes. To mention that Albert Lopo was rested since he is dragging a hamstring problem.

In the end the first team won the game with a 3-1 score, the goals were scored by Ze Castro, Rochela and Urreta, while the goal of Depor B was scored by winger David Añon. After the game Urreta told to Radio Galega that he is feeling fine and ready to be picked for Sunday’s match.

Before the training game, Lotina talked to reporters at the press room of Abegondo, the Basque man was talking of the current state of the Uruguayan winger, and contrary to the words of the player, the coach was trying to be more cautious, “We still don’t know if he will be available for Sunday. First we have to see his evolution during the rest of the week and how is he feeling. Luckily, we are well covered on his position. The other day Desmarets played there, and before the chance was for Saúl, besides Pablo Álvarez does a good job when he is on the pitch, so we must be patient.”

About the upcoming match against Racing, Lotina said that, “Our obligation is to try to keep the good streak, because a new positive result in Santander will bring tranquility. They are also living an uncomfortable situation, as anybody else living at the bottom of the standings, so it is going to be a complicate rival.”

The Basque coach was also asked of the case with the players ending their contract, like Lopo or Antonio Tomas, he answered that, “It is logical that this issue is worrying me, but the club is also concerned. We must understand our situation and it’s very difficult in today's market to find high level players that are free, and that is where we have to move. The players of Deportivo that are ending contract are very tasteful for anyone, we know that. Besides, we have to look at other clubs to see how they are spending the money, as the cases of Hercules or Malaga, and we can’t do that. Our reality is different and the key is to stay at Primera División "

Finally, Lotina wasn’t discarding the possibility of signing a new central striker during the winter window, “We know our needs an also the president; and I don’t know how the market is, because one thing is to want a new player and another different is to be able to do it. I think we have a very complete squad, but we need a reference in attack. We have three good strikers, who can play that position, but the only natural striker that we have is Dioni, and he was signed for Fabril. If that player appears at the market we will sign it, if not then I won’t complain.”
