Despite this was a terrible match, Lotina was content with the performance of the team, while the players are convinced that Depor still can still achieve the pass to semifinals at the Riazor.

Coach Miguel Ángel Lotina was commenting the match, he was feeling satisfied despite the poor impression left by his team, "There's nothing much to say, but we still have another game that will decide the series. Almeria is playing pretty good; it's a team that I like and it is interesting. Almeria and Depor are more worried of what could happen in liga; anyhow, we are leaving satisfied.”

And it’s that for the Basque coach the quarterfinal series will be decided at the Riazor, “We still have to play ninety minutes; today we tried to make our game, and for some moments we were feeling pretty comfortable with the ball, but some errors when we attempted to pass it were the facts that gave the chance to Almeria.”

Finally, Lotina was once again confirming that the most important thing for Deportivo is la liga, “They had more opportunities than us, but I repeat: it was because we were losing the ball. Desmarets suffered a penalty that could have changed the game. Anyhow, we are focused in la liga, which is the important thing for us.”

Goalkeeper Manu was feeling sorry for the way in which Almeria scored its goal, but he was sure that the play would have ended in a goal anyway, “It was a pity, but if the ball would have not hit Rindarøy, then I’m sure that any of the two strikers that were there would have scored the goal.”

Midfielder Juan Rodriguez was giving his view of the match, “In several phases of the encounter we had the ball possession, but missed more depth as there weren’t too many opportunities to score. Clearly if you only have one chance throughout the ninety minutes you will hardly win a match.”

Later the Andalusian was saying that Depor still can qualify to semifinals, “You never know what could happen in a two-leg series. We know it’s complicated, but can turn around the situation. We know they have strong and fast people and that are dangerous in the counterattack, but we must attack knowing that they could score at any moment.”

The other pivote in the formation, Rubén Pérez, was also explaining what happened in the match, “They controlled the actions and we should admit that the result is well deserved. We also had our chances, the play in which Lassad hit the post and the action of Desmarets, but he couldn’t shot on target.”

He was also feeling convinced that Depor can achieve the comeback in the returning leg, “We still have to play the second-leg. We are talking of ninety minutes in which anything could happen. I am convinced that we could turn around the situation.”

Similar were the thoughts of Albert Lopo, who just played the first forty-five minutes “Almeria is a good team, but with the support of our fans we will be able to achieve the qualification. At home we can clinch the comeback and we will do it.”

At Almeria, coach José Luis Oltrawas content with the performance of his team, but not with the number of goals that were scored, “Once again the team transmitted positive sensations and besides, it’s an important victory in order to define the series, something that I emphasize as it also raises the morale. However we should have scored more goals, but not always you score all the goals that you generate. But we were solid, never committed an error and have clinched a clean sheet for the first time, so I want to congratulate the players.”

But just as Lotina did, the Valencian coach said that for him the important thing is in la liga, “We want to qualify to the semifinals in Copa, it will be pretty, but our main goal remains in liga. If we reach the semifinals I don’t know if facing Barcelona will be a reward or a punishment; however, this series still open.”
