Lotina will have some casualties, but expects to not have problems to build up the lineup for the important meeting against Valencia; meanwhile the rival is indifferent with all that’s happening in La Coruña.

Ahead of the clash with Valencia (Riazor, Saturday, 22h00 CET) the main concern for coach Miguel Ángel Lotina is Albert Lopo; the Catalan central defender is dragging a quadriceps injury and didn’t take part of Wednesday’s training session, though doctors expect that he will be fit to play in this important meeting.

The Basque coach already has the casualty of another central defender, Aythami Artiles, the Canarian is suspended as he saw his fifth yellow card on the season during the visit to the Camp Nou, and with Ze Castro doubtful due to a knee problem, it means that Lotina will probably have to pick Fabril’s David Rochela in order to fill the gaps.

Antonio Tomás (quadriceps) and Ze Castro (knee) are training apart with physiotherapist Pablo Lopez and it isn’t clear yet if both will be ready to play on Saturday. Also, José Sand is in Argentina as his wife gave birth to their third child. The Argentine attacker won’t be at the Riazor for Saturday’s meeting. Another player missing the clash is Michel, who is ineligible to play as Valencia is his parent club.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday Andrés Guardado and Juan Rodriguez are working without any problem, the duo was going to take part of the starting lineup in the last game with Barcelona FC, but were sidelined as they were dragging knocks from the previous meeting with Athletic Bilbao. To mention that Manuel Pablo suffered a blow in the forehead, so he was training with a bandage.

In the other hand, Valencia CF is following with indifference the importance of the meeting; they are aware that Depor is playing for its life, but seems careless. Taking in mind that Los Ches already clinched the third place at the standings, the team will visit the Riazor without any special incentive, actually each player will receive 70,000 Euros as the reward for ending among the top-three places, which means that there’s a low probability of any kind of reward coming from other clubs in order to win this game.

So, the players are relaxed and the attention is focused in other things, like the fact that coach Unai Emery is going to be renewed for one more year. He was constantly criticized throughout the season for the performance of the team, but in this last part of the tournament he has been supported by the public, and since the team clinched the third place in la liga president Manuel Llorente announced on Wednesday that the club already started the negotiations to extend the contract of the Basque coach.

The team is planning to train on next week before the vacations, and on Wednesday’s night they had a dinner party to celebrate the third place. About injury news, the only players with physical problems are winger Pablo Hernández and goalkeeper Vicente Guaitia, the winger has a hamstring problem and is unlikely that he will be available for the meeting at the Riazor, while the goalie has flu and should be okay for Saturday.

Also, the game against Depor will be the last one for winger Vicente Rodriguez, who is ending contract and already said that he is leaving in order to play in England. The match at the Riazor could also be the last one for midfielder David Albelda and goalkeeper César Sánchez, both are ending contract and it isn’t know yet if they will continue at the Valencian club.
