THE SOAP OPERA OF THE SUMMER

18 Aug 2011
During the summer transfer windows there’s always a case that focus the attention as it needs a lot of time in order to be completed; on this year this case is the swap Rubén Pérez-Borja, a deal that still stuck as there is no agreement between Depor and Getafe.

Many journalists covering the news at Deportivo were expecting that the” soap opera case” of the summer was going to be the so expected exit of Andrés Guardado, but in the end there were only a few rumours linking the Mexican with a possible exit and now it seems that the winger is staying in La Coruńa.

Instead the case that now seems endless is the swap Rubén Pérez – Borja Fernandez, a deal that neither Getafe nor Depor have been able to complete, at least for now. The operation seemed close to occur two weeks ago, but later nothing happened and both Lendoiro and Oltra said in public that it was an “improbable” operation.

On Wednesday, Radio Onda Cero informed that the deal was finally closed and that the official announcement was close to occur, but in the end nothing happened. The problem seems to be the large number of details included in the possible operation, starting with the fact that Rubén Pérez belongs to Atletico and not to Deportivo, and also that Lendoiro isn’t content just with a simple swap and that he is trying to include several clauses, like compensations (according to Radio Galega, Depor would receive €500,000) and wages cuts.

Despite the latest rumours, both players still training with their team; on Wednesday Ruben Pérez completed the two training sessions scheduled for the day, and even said on his Twitter account that he doesn’t know anything about the possible deal, “Well, I still here despite the rumours on the media; I’m trying to help the team and am working at the top.” He wrote.

Neither the agent of Borja, Teo Lázaro, was aware of the situation, as he told to Riazor.org, “There is nothing. At least nobody has informed me or the player about a possible agreement. You must consult first Deportivo and Getafe.”

FABRIL MAKES A FINAL SIGNING
On Tuesday the club confirmed a new signing for Fabril: centre midfield Pedro Crespo Ballesteros; he is 22 and is coming for free from Murcia B. He is signing a one-year contract. Coach Tito Ramallo said recently that the team was already closed, but the injury problems of Ricardo Fernández Pérez ‘Richi’ forced him to make this last move in the market. Deportivo B debuts on Tercera on August 28 as it will hosts SD Negreira at Abegondo.
