Oltra will have six casualties for the next two matches of Deportivo; the latest is that Xisco will be out three weeks due to a new muscular injury, while Bodipo suffered a knee sprain with his national team.

It will be a busy week for Deportivo after the setback at El Collao; because Oltra’s team returns to the Riazor in order to play two matches in a matter of four days. On Wednesday the Galicians are facing one more time CD Alcoyano, though this time it will be for Copa Del Rey (22h00 CET). Then, on Saturday, Depor will play against Gimnástic Tarragona for the Segunda competition (16h00 CET).

Coach Oltra will have seven casualties for the first meeting and six for the second; there are six players injured, four of them are long-term cases dragged from past weeks: Bruno Gama (groin), Manuel Pablo (hamstring), Borja Fernandez (groin) and Pablo Álvarez (hamstring/nose fracture).

The other two injury cases are strikers Francisco Jimenez Tejada ‘Xisco’ and Rodolfo Bodipo; the Majorcan suffered a new muscular problem during the training session before the visit to Alcoyano. The latest scans determined that he sustained a tear in the psoas muscle (lumbar region); therefore he will be out for three weeks.

In the case of the African attacker, he sustained an ankle sprain during the African Cup qualifying match between Equatorial Guinea and Gabon; he was replaced at minute 55 after suffering a tough foul and the latest scans have confirmed the injury; he should be out of action for a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, Andrés Guardado won’t be available for the Copa meeting with Alcoyano as he will take part of the international match between Mexico and Brazil; but the winger will be back on time for the liga clash with Nástic.

At least the Valencian coach has recovered striker Iván Sanchez Rico-Soto ‘Riki’ and right winger Saul Fernandez; duo that has been out for a month and that already had minutes in the liga defeat with Alcoyano.

It is expected that Oltra will make rotations ahead of the Copa match, starting with keeper Daniel Aranzubia and playmaker Juan Carlos Valerón, but at least a couple of player will have to repeat their participation compared to the last starting lineup as the Valencian coach only has twenty players available. He won’t pick anybody from Fabril as in the same day the B squad is facing CD Estradense as part of the Tercera season. It is also expected that Alcoyano will make rotations as the priority for them is the league competition.

Finally, Gimnástic Tarragona will not play in midweek as the Catalan team was already eliminated in Copa by Real Valladolid (0-6); the main problem for coach Juan Carlos Oliva is the plague of injuries; right now five players are already discarded for the meeting at the Riazor: ex-Mallorca striker Antoni Lluís Adrover ‘Tuni’ (meniscus), ex-Elche winger/side defender Raúl Fuster (muscular), defender Pedro Mairata, right winger Álvaro Rey (both knee) and playmaker Juan Dominguez Otaegui (groin)

Things are currently complicated for Nástic, The Catalans have just picked three draws on the Segunda season and are currently penultimate at the standings; it was said that coach Oliva could have been fired in case of a defeat in the past game with FC Cartagena, but it turned to be a goalless draw that didn’t clear the doubts on his future.
