Oltra and the players were happy with the victory and the performance of the team; actually some of them were saying that this was the most complete game on the season.

José Luis Oltra was pretty happy with the final result, “This victory is the merit of the players; they were intense, focused, sober and effective. This has been our most complete game and I’m happy with the performance of the players. There were matches in which we played well during forty-five minutes and later it was tough for us. Now Córdoba pressed us, and the team was focused.”

“The best of the game is that we were brave, and that we went out for the victory with our own idea of football, achieving a clean sheet and we did it against a solid team. The idea that we had is to make them feel uncomfortable and not allowing them to make combinations. Córdoba was pressing up front and we knew it meant to assume risks, so the key was to have the ball possession and search for their back.” He added.

The Valencian man discarded that his return to the pitch was a factor that affected the final result, “There isn’t any relation; the victory is a product of the team’s hard work against a solid and dynamic rival. I am where I wanted to be and want to thank the club for making the effort, which was big in order to have me there.”

Finally, Oltra explained the modification of Salomão, “He had a little problem, but didn’t prevent him to play. About Riki, he was like the rest of the team. His change was going to be made before the second goal, but I'm enchanted with his work. Today Lassad was a replacement, but both attackers were one more piece on the gear of this team.”

Riki missed several opportunities, but at least scored the second goal; he was aware of the missed chances, “In the first half we could have achieved a bigger result, but the important thing is that we are leaving with positive sensations; we have shown the performance that we wanted. I’m content with the goal, because I’m a vertical player; what I want is to score goals and I was able to do it. But I’m happy; independently of my goal, for the match that we completed.”

Daniel Aranzubia clinched a clean sheet as he didn’t face too many problems on the pitch, “I was tranquil during almost the whole game and I believe that it happened because we knew how to defend and keep the tension. We completed the most complete match of the season; we knew how to seize the chances and play on counterattacks.” He said about the game.

Saul Fernandez had a great chance to score the third goal, and he was remembering it, “I guess the fans will be remembering my mother for the miss… but they should be tranquil as I will remember the play much more [he laughed]. The most important thing is the three points.”

At Córdoba, coach Paco Jémez was explaining his view of the game, “In the first half we were imprecise with the ball at our feet, and precisely one of the things that we should have done was to have the ball possession. So, Deportivo felt pretty good as we gave the ball to them.”

The former player of Deportivo was also pointing out that the second goal was unfortunate for his team, “We were trying to score, especially on that wing, and in that play they surprised us in a counterattack, and playing against a team like this the marks must be more emphatic. Working hard and putting these kinds of plays as example when you don’t do the right things. The teams that take care of the small details are the ones that go beyond.”

Former Pontevedra attacker Charles Dias de Oliveira was also feeling sorry for the defeat, “It was painful; you never like to lose and mainly when you are playing at home, before your fans. The good thing is that we will play again on Wednesday. I slipped at the worst moment. We knew that Depor is a great team, also that we can’t commit errors, but must leave with our heads out, and if we lose, it must be playing good football.”
