Oltra and his players admitted that they didn’t complete a good match and also praised the effort of the rival, but at the same time everybody was happy as Depor clinched the three points and to end the first round at the top of the standings.

Coach José Luis Oltra was admitting that his team was lucky to add the points as it wasn’t a great game for Depor, “We’ve suffered in the first part. I must recognize that the rival was superior and must give credit to them. Let’s hope they could always play like that. For us it was lucky to reach half-time mark with the 0-0. In the second part we saw a different team, the expulsion was fair and only paved the way to our good performance in the second half. Today wasn't our best game, but the team is growing.”

“I sign right now to suffer each day like we did today, every game, and then win 1-0 or 0-1. This victory allows us to the end the first round as the lonely leader, though we didn’t complete a brilliant game. In any case, my team is doing the right things and is the leader by its own merits. The important thing is that we added the three points and that the team still at the top of the standings." ” He added.

He was also commenting the fact that the public whistled the team at half-time, “We knew it could happen, I told my players to stay apart from this. For the expectations with the team, the public wasn’t going to understand that Villarreal could have the ball possession, but the rival also plays, it’s similar to their first team and they have a solid scheme. We have five straight wins and are passing through a good moment, and in a general sense the team is on the right track.”

Finally, Oltra isn’t worried after Lassad got injured, because he relies in the condition of Xisco, who returned into competition after been out for five months, "We'll see the result of the scans; Lassad wasn't fine since the past game as he was dragging a knock. The important thing is that Xisco is back."

Precisely Xisco was showing his happiness for his return and also for the victory, “I was willing to play after been off for so long. Now I need to gain minutes and enter into the lineups leaving the injuries behind. Villarreal demonstrated why is competing at Segunda; they have solid players and try to have the ball possession, for this reason the victory is more meritorious."

Juan Dominguez was also praising the skills of the rival, “They have the same style than us, and we knew it was going to be equal. They had more chances in the first part, but we ended our problems at half-time, for that reason the second half was different. The coach told us that we should be searching for the right way to make them feel uncomfortable, I believe we did it and the rival deserves to be praised."

His partner at midfield, Álex Bergantiños, was admitting that he didn’t make a solid game and that for that reason he was replaced, “They were with ten men and the coach considered that the right call was to send another striker. It wasn’t my best game. In any case, I am content for how things are going and for playing for so many minutes on the season. Besides, the team is fine and let’s hope we could extend this positive streak.”

Meanwhile, left-back Ayoze Diaz was saying that, "I believe the important thing is the three points; it was a tough game and what matters is that we won and now have 42 points. It was hard to enter into the game as they had several shot that hit the posts; luckily we scored and clinched the three points, which was the thing that we all wanted. We still living a good streak and also clinched a clean sheet."

Borja Fernandez entered for the final ten minutes in order to protect the narrow advantage; he commented in his Twitter account that, “In a football sense I couldn’t be more happy if we end the season with the current situation, so… but we have a lot to paddle.”

Playmaker Juan Carlos Valerón was also valorizing the victory and the effort done by the team, “It was a very complicate meeting, the rival tried to play with the ball as they understood that this was a great chance to show their skills. For me the key of the victory was to clinch the clean sheet at the end of the first forty-five minutes.”

President Augusto César Lendoiro was admitting that his team didn’t have a good game, “It wasn’t a good presentation and, despite been first, the team needs to improve. It isn’t that the performance isn’t convincing me, it’s just that I believe they can reach a new height. The team has the capacity to improve as it isn’t playing at one hundred percent. Still, we remain at the first place and it’s a good thing to be the winter champion.”

Depor’s boss was also closing the doors to any new arrival during the winter window, unless a great opportunity arrives, “I see more probably that nobody will come than to make a signing. I have the impression that Lassad didn’t suffer a serious injury, and in attack both Riki and Xisco are having their first minutes after been out for a while, but if a good opportunity knocks at the door, then we could make an effort.”

At Villarreal B, coach Julio Velázquez was content with the performance of his youngsters, “Despite the result I am satisfied. The players were great in every facet, with or without the ball possession, the first half was great, we hit the posts in three opportunities and I am content with our performance.  In the end we were playing with ten and it conditioned the result. In a punctual play Deportivo, with its punch, took the lead; later we tried of everything, but it was impossible. Deportivo is a great team, they will surely achieve the promotion on this season and the coaching staff is making an exceptional job.”
