Without doubt winger Bruno Gama is living his best moment of the season; after surpassing his injury he gained the spot at the starting team and is now a factor in attack with four goals scored within the last five matchdays.

Definitely Bruno Gama, together with his compatriot Diogo Salomão, represent the best signings of Deportivo for the current season. He arrived from Rio Ave with the label of been a skillful winger; soon he claimed a spot at the starting formation, though he was unable to perform during the first eleven matches in liga due to an injury case.

A curious thing is that the Vila Verde-born player arrived to Deportivo without been considered as a goal scorer; in Portugal he only scored five times in fifty-nine matches at his previous club, Rio Ave FC; neither was a goal scorer at Vitória Futebol Clube, place where he only scored six times after fifty-three matches.

But at Deportivo this picture changed, the right winger scored twice plus gave three assists in the six friendly matches that he disputed before picking a groin injury in the Teresa Herrera clash before Sevilla CF. Bruno could only return at the beginning of November for the visit to Real Murcia (0-0).

The Portuguese player faced some problems to adapt and gain pace, but everything started to change for the visit to Hércules CF (4-1), match in which he scored his first official goal at Deportivo; since then things have been easier for Bruno as he has scored three more goals, all of this within the last five matchdays (Hércules, Barca B, Alcorcón and Guadalajara), plus giving an assist.

In resume, in just a half a season Bruno Gama already scored at Deportivo the 80% of the goals that he added within his five previous years in Portugal. And with fourteen matchdays remaining in the calendar this could turn to be the best scoring season in his career.

The player himself is aware of his good form, as he stated on Sunday, ”Things are fine for me, also for the team, lately I have been scoring goals and I believe this is my best moment on the season. I´m living a happy moment and want to continue like this, working hard and improving every day to be the best; also with the hope of scoring more goals.”

He also commented the current moment lived by Deportivo in the competition, ”We are content for winning the last game and for staying at the first place, though a lot still ahead, fourteen matchdays, anything can happen and we want to continue the same. It’s important to have a difference with the other teams and will keep working hard in order to add the three points every Sunday.”
