Deportivo is already moving in the market and is about to close the first signing for the season 2011/12: André Santos, a Portuguese centre midfielder that’s part of Jorge Mendes’ briefcase; the move still pending of the official confirmation.

Depor Sport announced that Deportivo has reached agreement with Sporting CP for centre midfielder André Filipe Bernardes Santos; the 23-year-old player is arriving loaned for one season with Depor having a buyout clause. The amount of the clause hasn’t been revealed as the contract hasn’t been signed yet.

President Lendoiro is in Madrid negotiating some aspects of the television contract, the debts with the banks and with other players’ agents, so the singing will be official until next week. This move is possible thanks to Jorge Mendes, agent and co-owner of the player’s rights through his company, Quality Football Ireland Limited.

Sporting CP has the 30% of the player’s rights, Jorge Mendes has the 20% and the other half belongs to a found called O Sporting Portugal Found. The player has been valued in €3.5 million and his contract stipulates a buyout clause of €20 million.

André Santos is a defensive midfielder that´s pretty solid obstructing the game of the rival, however he’s also known for his skills up front. His vision and passes are important in the transition defense-attack, besides the Portuguese man is known for his ability to shot on target from mid-distance. Two seasons ago he was a normal starter at Sporting CP, but on the season that has just ended he only played eleven games in liga, this since former coach Domingos Paciência preferred other options like Stijn Schaars and Marat Izmailov, for that reason he’s going out of the team.
