15 Jun 2012
It’s now official; Deportivo has signed centre midfielder André Santos ahead of the season 2012/13. The Portuguese man arrived on Thursday to La Coruña and will be presented today. Salomão is also extending his loan stay at Depor.

It was announced early in the week by Depor Sport but it was just official until Thursday; Deportivo has closed the arrival of Portuguese player André Filipe Bernardes Santos; the 23-year-old centre midfielder will play loaned at Depor coming from Portuguese outfit Sporting CP.

The loan spell is possible thanks to international agent Jorge Mendes and is for one year; there’s a buyout option included in the deal, but the club didn’t release any information. The Portuguese player will pass the medicals on Friday and will be presented in the afternoon; during the press conference Lendoiro will surely release more information regarding the clauses of this operation.

SALOMAO STAYS AT DEPOR
In other news the club officially confirmed that Diogo Salomão is extending his loan stay at Depor for one more season. The left winger is also in La Coruña and will take part of the Friday’s presentation at the Playa Club. It’s even commented that the act will be used to present the new kits of Deportivo.

With these two operations confirmed it means that, for now, Depor has four Portuguese players at the first team: Salomão, Ze Castro, Bruno Gama and André Santos. It’s the first time in fifteen years in which Deportivo has so many foreign players coming from one single country.

The last time this fact occurred was for the season 1996/97 as the Galician club had five Brazilians (Conceição, Donato, Mauro Silva, Renaldo and Rivaldo) and four Frenchmen (Armando, Bonnissel, Martins and Madar) at the team coached by John Benjamin Toshack.
