The season 2011/12 is now officially closed; at Deportivo ten players ended on Saturday their links with the club, and so far only three of them signed a renewal or an extension of their loans; Depor still pending of the situation with Borja Fernandez.

Seven players are now officially out of Deportivo after ending their contracts or loan spells; totally ten men ended their links with the club on Saturday, and only three of them have extended their continuity at the Galician club: playmaker Juan Carlos (three more years) goalkeeper German Lux (one more season), and left winger Diogo Salomão, this last one after Deportivo and Sporting CP signed a new loan for one more season.

About the other seven players, two of them have already joined other clubs: Mexican left winger Andrés Guardado, who is already part of Valencia CF, and Argentine central defender Diego Colotto, who last week joined RCD Espanyol.

Then there’s the case of striker Lassad Nouioui, the club wanted to renew his contract and presented an offer, but the Tunisian man never responded and neither has signed for other club. The club understands that he doesn’t want to continue and is already searching for other choices, though the option of signing a new contract with the ex-Fabril man hasn’t been ruled out.

Who never received a renewal offer is right winger Pablo Álvarez, and neither Paraguayan left-back Claudio Morel; this last man wanted to continue and his agent even had a meeting with Ernesto Bello, but Depor has other plans and expects to sign a new left-back defender in the coming weeks.

Finally, the cases with centre midfielder Borja Fernandez and striker Francisco Jiménez ‘Xisco’, both were loaned by Getafe CF and Newcastle United respectively. On this week the club will talk with the agent of Borja and is rumored that Depor will try to sign him, in a new loan deal or in free-transfer if the player can break his link with the Madrilenian club. In the case of the Majorcan striker, Depor is already searching for other options as he still has one more year of contract with Newcastle.
