Diogo Salomão is the first man that has started to work ahead of the new season; he’ll be joined by Bruno Gama and Jesús Vázquez. Salomão and Vázquez are coming back from injuries and want to be fit for the pre-season.

The pre-season starts next week, but the work for some players begins on the present one. Diogo Salomão returned to the training pitch on Thursday, one day before the Portuguese player was working on the gym at the Zona Fit, and yesterday he did it at Abegondo.

Salomão passed the first physical tests and on Thursday worked for about half an hour at Abegondo; he was under the supervision of Pablo López, one of the physiotherapists at the club, later he worked at the gym. After the training the player addressed the media at the press room.

He –talking in Portuguese- explained his goal for the new season, ”We are willing to do the right things and do our best effort at Primera División; we are conscious that this is a much more demanding tournament and we must try to fulfill the expectations. We are going to play against the nest players in the world, and surely it’s motivating.”

About his current shape, he said that, ”I had some issues at the end of the season, it affected me, so the doctors and I decided to start before the others. I never stopped during the vacation and now I feel better. I am in an advance phase of my recovery process and now it’s time to make some precise exercises in order to be at the top for the beginning of the season, that’s why I returned earlier.”

The winger sustained a tear in the Obturator internus muscle (pubis) during last season’s match at UD Almeria; he never recovered in time, therefore he didn't play the last six games at Segunda, for this reason the club asked him to return earlier than the rest of the squad in order to have some extra-work and undergo some tests.

Jesús Vázquez is another player that’s having an earlier return. The Andalusian centre midfielder broke his fibula during the training session held on March 13 and missed the last three months of the competition. He returned to train on the last week of the Segunda season and on Saturday he’ll join Salomão at the training pitch. The rest of the squad will begin the pre-season on Tuesday.

The other player that will have an early return is Bruno Gama; the right winger ended the past season without having any physical problem, but the doctors asked him to return early after the groin injury that kept him at bay within the first two months of the past season. He will join the trainings today.
