THE VILALBA STAGE IS OVER

23 Jul 2012
The toughest week of the pre-season for the players is over; the team has been training twice each day and now returns to Abegondo in order to spend the last three weeks before debuting at Liga BBVA 2012/13.

It has been an exhausting week for Deportivo’s players; since Monday the team has been concentrated at Hotel Attica 21 in Vilalba and the coaching staff has emphasized the improvement of the players’ physical condition with two sessions per day, each one lasting one and a half hour.

The stage at Vilalba was also used by Oltra in order to emphasize the tactics for the new season; the concentration also allowed the relaxation of the group and the adaptation of the three new signings. It was common to see the players playing a card game named ‘Pocha’ in the middle of both sessions, mainly Manuel Pablo, Aythami, Aranzubia and Laure.

The players that have been following a special routine were Diogo Salomão and Ze Castro, both have are recovering from injuries and worked apart during the whole week, besides missing to play in the friendly matches against Viveiro CF and Racing Club Vilalbés. Left-back Evaldo also followed a special routine as he was the last player to join the group.

Now, the first team is resting on Monday and will resume the trainings on Tuesday, this time at Abegondo. The signings that still have to join the club will have to follow a special physical routine as they skipped the stage at Vilalba; the rest will face less demanding sessions, because from now own Oltra will emphasize the tactics as the team faces the last three weeks of the pre-season. Besides, Depor still has to face seven friendly matches before the debut in liga.
