The signing of Abel Aguilar will be completed on Wednesday as the player arrives to A Coruña; Rayo Vallecano was close to get the player, but the pressure of Udinese was decisive. The Colombian is the fourth signing of the season.

Today Deportivo will close the signing of Abel Aguilar as the player arrives to A Coruña in order to sign the papers of his loan spell coming from Hércules CF. He´ll undergo the medicals on Thursday. Last week the Galician club was close to sign the operation for the first time, but Rayo Vallecano got in the middle and the signing was practically ruled out at Depor until Udinese made its part.

Lendoiro was offering to pay big part of the player’s wages (€500,000 of the €700,000), then Rayo offered €600,000 and the midfielder was on his way to Madrid, but the pressure of Udinese was the key to resolve the issue. The Italian side owes the 50% of the player’s rights and Hércules still has to pay part of the transfer completed two years ago (€500,000).

Los Bianconeri informed to Hércules that they won’t reclaim any payment in case of sealing a loan operation with Depor, but will ask for the half of million in case of signing a deal with any other club. Therefore Hércules chose the option of Deportivo. The Valencians urgently need to get rid of the player as his wages are blocking the needed resources to hire the new signings ahead of the new season.

This help from Udinese reflects the friendship of Lendoiro and Quique Pina, the president of Granada CF and one of the main allies of Udinese. Lendoiro is chasing Abel Aguilar since 2009, but it was until today that he’s able to get the player. The Colombian midfielder has plenty of experience in Spain as he already played for Hércules and Real Zaragoza at Primera División.

He’s a strong player that can perform as a centre midfielder or as a playmaker. It was always commented that Aguilar has the skills to perform as a defensive pivote or as an offensive midfielder that can score goals. He scored nine goals at Segunda with Hércules for the season 2008/09, but later his scoring record wasn’t so impressive. One year later he scored five times with Zaragoza and only netted four with Hércules within the last two seasons, though one of those goals was against Deportivo playing at the Riazor, which meant the only defeat of Depor in its campaign at Segunda (0-1, matchday 03).
