Midfielder Abel Aguilar was presented on Thursday’s afternoon at the Riazor; the Colombian will play loaned for one season at Deportivo. He confessed that this is the biggest club in which he has played throughout his career.

The fourth signing of Deportivo La Coruña ahead of the season 2012/13 was presented on Thursday’s afternoon at the Riazor: Abel Aguilar. The Colombian midfielder arrived on Wednesday’s night to A Coruña; on the next morning he passed the medicals and later was presented before the fans.

President Lendoiro welcomed him at the press room and told to reporters that this was a complex operation for the club, “The signing of Aguilar was really complex, because it was necessary to reach an agreement with four sides: Hércules, Udinese, Depor and the player. In this sense we must thank Quique Piña as he made an important work helping to see Udinese resigning to their rights over the player. This a free loan for the club”

“There were several clubs interested in Aguilar ahead of this season. It was complex, but we are proud to be presenting Aguilar today. He is coming loaned for one season and it must be said that he had to waive to a little part of his wages in order to be here.” Depor’s boss added.

Later, Abel talked to reporters and expressed his satisfaction for joining a club like Deportivo, “This is a club with history, things are done well on here and it pushed me to join Depor, I really wanted to join a club like this one. Depor is surely the most important club in my whole career, this due to its history and for the players that have passed through here.”

He also confessed that Aythami Artiles, a former team mate at Xérez CD, spoke greatly of the club, “There was interest in me in the past and it surely it was a factor to make this decision. I also talked with Aythami and he said great things of the club, the officials, the players, the fans…I know there’s a lot of competence on here, but it’s good for the club. We all come here in order to bring things to the team.”
