In a frenetic summer transfer window Deportivo tried to sign two new players before the deadline: a striker and left-back defender. Just the defender –Tiago Pinto- is arriving and the attacker could do it in the coming days.

Surprising end of the summer window at Deportivo; the club attempted to complete two signings before the deadline, just when only a few people were expecting for movements after completing other eight signings within the past two months.

The players on target where left-back Tiago Miguel Pinto and striker Iván Klasnić. Pinto is a well known name at Deportivo as the Portuguese man was linked with Depor a few months ago, but he was forgotten after the arrival of Evaldo. Precisely it seems that his signing was decided after the problems shown at the left side of the defense within the first two games in liga

The details of the operation weren’t revealed, Lendoiro just told the media that he will undergo the medicals and that he will be inscribed as a Fabril’s player, this due to the overbooking at the first team. Tiago is 24 and is considered to be a solid defender; he already took part of Portugal’s U-17 and U-21 squads.

Meanwhile. Klasnić cancelled his contract with Bolton Wanderers some days ago and suddenly appeared linked with Deportivo. It was rumored that the 32-year-old striker was in A Coruña in order to sign for Depor, but Lendoiro denied it, though he neither denied the interest in the Croatian attacker.

What Lendoiro told to reports was that the club will try to hire a free agent for the striking zone; there’s no deadline to sign a free agent as long as there’s a spot at the first team, and there’s a free spot right now: shirt number 12).

What Lendoiro stated regarding the possibility of hiring a new striker: ” Klasnić was never here and we´ll see what happens with him. We´ll keep working in order to get a player that really interests us, but there are no hurries. Riki is living his best moment since arriving to Depor and you all know the qualities of Nélson [Oliveira].”
