Several positive things can be extracted from the last two victories of Deportivo. One of them is that the players are beginning to increase their effectiveness in stationary plays like corners and free-kicks; another positive factor is that Depor is taking advantage of the facility that some men have in order to play the ball with the head, three of the last four goals came in this way.

The protagonists in this actions are Juanma and Diego Trist??n. Both players have scored two goals with the head on this season, curiously is the same mark achieved at the same point during the past campaign. Juanma scored his two 'headed goals' against Real Madrid, a thing to be noticed is that both opportunities began in corner-kicks that the squad managed properly.

In the past season some of the critics against the squad were due to their lack of effectiveness in the corners and free-kicks actions. Now, the things seems to be changing for good. Two of Trist??n’s goals occurred in a similar way, in the match against Zaragoza the Sevillan forward headed the ball just after a free-kick taken by Munitis. His other goal with the head occurred last Sunday at Riazor, Trist??n headed perfectly a ball that Capdevila sent to him from the left wing.

The influence of the stationary plays is bigger after considering some other goals scored by Depor. Capdevila's goal against Atl?tico was born in a corner-kick that the Catalan defender sent to the back of the net in the last second of the game. One week before Juanma scored in Soin Moix stadium after receiving a ball in a free-kick. Finally Trist??n scored from the penalty spot in the match against Betis.

In resume, seven of the thirteen goals scored so far begun in different stationary plays, definitely the squad  is taking the maximum advantage of this opportunities, specially taking in mind that those seven goals served to conquer eleven of the sixteen points accumulated so far. Another important thing is the number of goals achieved by the defenders.

Juanma (3) and Capdevila are the defenders that accumulates goals in their counts after ten matchdays played. Four goals that equals the contribution made by the defenders on the past campaign. In that opportunity Pablo Amo, Andrade, Coloccini and Capdevila scored for Depor. A positive tendency that begun in the Intertoto cup when Andrade scored three goals during the competition.
