TRANSFER NEWS

28 Jun 2013
A typical summer for Deportivo, the financial problems are leaving the impression that no transfer moves were made. But things are starting to move: Kaká & Lux could stay. Portu is a target and Aythami is at the door out.

Deportivo are still trying to reach an agreement with the creditors in order to guarantee the survival of the club, for this reason the planning of the team for the Segunda season is in the background, though the president and the sporting director are working in the subject. On Wednesday there was a new meeting between coach Fernando Vázquez and Ernesto Bello in order to talk of signings.

There are several rumours, the major part of them are former players of Deportivo or men that are ending contract on Saturday, but for now there are three things for sure: the negotiations to keep two player ending contract and the interest in a youngster from Valencia B.

Centre-back Claudiano Bezerra ‘Kaká is the first name on the list. The Brazilian arrived during the winter window thanks to former coach Domingos Pacięncia, he was a substitute with Fernando Vázquez, but still the Galician trainer wants him to stay. It is what he asked to the sporting director and the club is already negotiating.

Kaká belongs to Hungarian club Videoton FC; he arrived loaned until June 30 with Depor having a €300,000 buyout clause. Depor aren’t in conditions of paying the clause, so they could end up negotiating a new loan spell. The point is that the situation of Kaká with Videoton FC isn’t defined, last summer he signed a 1+1 contract with that club and it isn’t clear yet if he’ll extend his link with the Fehérvár.

The continuity of German Lux is another solid rumor; the Argentine goalie ends his contract on Saturday and already received offers from some Primera clubs, but he wants to stay, actually he’s currently in A Coruńa as his child is about to born. Fernando Vázquez himself told to Television Galega (TVG) that Lux is his first choice for the goalkeeping position.

Another solid rumour is linking Deportivo with centre-midfielder Cristián Portugués Manzanera 'Portu', a 20-year-old player that’s the captain of Valencia Mestalla (Valencia B). The reason why this is considered a solid rumour is because Braulio, ex-Depor player that's currently the sporting director at Valencia CF, confirmed the ongoing negotiations with Deportivo in order to seal a loan deal.

The situation is uncertain about other rumors, in previous weeks Deportivo were linked with Xisco and Lassad Nouioui, both strikers were part of the team that clinched the promotion to Primera one year ago.

Lassad’s case is a mystery; it was commented before that the agent of the Tunisian was offering the player across Spain and one of the doors that were knocked is the one of Depor, but the point is that Deportivo haven’t made any offer and it seems more interested in other targets. In any case he still has a contract with Celtic FC.

Meanwhile, the agent of Xisco confirmed to Riazor.org that Deportivo presented an offer to the Majorcan striker, who already ended his link with Newcastle United and rejected an offer from Córdoba CF. The agent confessed that the player has better offers, but that he would love to return to Depor. So, for now it seems that Xisco is waiting to see if the Galician club could match the conditions of the other contenders.

Radio Marca Tenerife informed that another ex-Depor striker, Aridane Santana, was offered to Deportivo by his agent. The former-Fabril striker ended as the top-scorer at group one of Segunda B netting 25 goals, but Depor isn’t interested in the 26-year-old player. Fernando Vázquez is looking for another type of attacker and his signing isn’t part of the plans.

The other former Depor man linked with a possible return is goalkeeper Dani Mallo; he ends his contract at Girona FC on Saturday and won’t renew the deal. He admitted in a radio interview at Radio Cadena Ser that he received a call from the Blanquiazul club asking for his status, but at the same time assured that there are no ongoing negotiations with Depor.

The last name linked with the club is striker Alex Geijo. Radio Galega reported that Deportivo are highly interested in Geijo, who belongs to Udienese Calcio, though his salary seems too high for the economy of the club (€700,000).

EXITS
There are two names on the list: Daniel Aranzubia and Aythami Artiles. The fact of seeing Fernando Vázquez describing German Lux as “the first choice for the goalkeeping position” could mean that the club will allow the exit of Aranzubia, who was the starting choice during the Primera season, but that also has one of the biggest salaries at the club.

This was confirmed by Vázquez himself during the interview with TVG, ”If Aranzubia leaves it will be because of his high wages; it is a possibility to see him leaving. In this sense the option of witnessing the continuity of Lux is there. I think he [Lux] will be an important player in order to assure the quality of the team ahead of Segunda División.”

Meanwhile, Marca wrote on Thursday that Fernando Vázquez doesn’t count with Aythami and that this is the main reason why he has requested for Kaka’s renewal. The same source wrote that Depor could allow his exit and that later he will join UD Las Palmas. On that same day Radio Cadena SER informed that Rayo Vallecano are also interested in the centre-back.
