Final game in the playoff round; Devesa’s boys defend the 4-2 lead of the first-leg in the middle of a harsh environment. Luis has been cleared to play after the competition committee lifted his suspension.

The final is here; Deportivo B travel to Malaga defending the 4-2 advantage achieved in the first-leg and there are two things to be worried. The first is the suffering of the team throughout the playoffs at the moment of visiting rivals playing in artificial grass pitches that also turned to be grounds with small dimensions.

And it’s that Fabril suffered first visiting UE Cornellà (1-2), it was close to be eliminated but pulled a goal away to end winning with a 3-2 aggregate score. A similar thing happened visiting CD Tuilla (aggregate 3-2), and now the conditions are the same at the Nuevo San Ignacio stadium.

Secondly, there’s a really heated environment after the incidents of the first-leg, there were hard comments on Twitter and even death threats, for this reason the club asked for police protection and already announced that they will travel with private security. The Galician papers and radios have been banned and the only way to follow the game is the TV transmission from the Andalusian company owing the rights. The coaching staff is even expecting an “ambush” as it happened to Burgos CF, their rival in the round of champions that complained of the treatment received when they visit the Nuevo San Ignacio.

Deportivo B have never wasted a two-goal lead during a playoff round; the only precedent was the tie against Écija Balompié during the Segunda B season 2007/08. Fabril won the first-leg playing at the Riazor (1-0), but later was crashed in the returning leg (0-3). Also worth to mention that El Palo only lost once at home on this season: 0-1 Vs. Martos CD (Sept 22).

Luis celebrating his hat-trick in the first-leg
Coach José Luis Devesa has been boosted as he will be able to count with Luis Fernández. The striker scored a hat-trick in the first-leg and picked a third yellow card in the playoffs after the referee didn’t want to whistle a clear penalty. The competition committee lifted the card on Wednesday. The player was also dragging a muscle problem, but he’s fit to play.

Who will miss the match is right-back Iván Garrido; he was sent off at the Riazor. So, Devesa will make a couple of modifications at the lineup. Iván played at the left side of the defense in the previous meeting, so the position will be now for Adrián Martinez, with Marcos Caridad entering in order to perform at the right. Meanwhile Paulo Teles will start at midfield.

The rest of the team is the same, with Marc Martinez at the goal, Uxío Marcos and Pablo Insua covering the centre of the defense. Oumar Sidibé joins Teles at midfield territory.

Álvaro Lemos attack from the right wing, Jorge Romay is the playmaker in the formation, Víctor Díaz performs at the left and Luis is the central attacker. The Galician striker has been on fire since December, netting 27 goals so far, and six of them during the playoffs.

List of picked players (16): Marc Martinez, Ricky Alonso (goalkeepers); Vela, Marcos Caridad, Uxío, Insua, Ángel (defenders), Adrian Martinez, Sidibé, Teles, Lemos, Victor, Romay, Jorge Cano (midfielders) Luis Fernandez & Dani Iglesias (strikers)

The pitch at El Nuevo San Ignacio stadium
Daniel Pérez will continue to be the head coach of El Palo as Pablo Guede remain in Argentina dealing with a family issue. The main news for them is that centre midfielder Francisco Flores should be fit to play after missing the first-leg. The Andalusian is considered to be the brain of the team.

Centre-back Antonio Muñoz suffered an ankle sprain during the previous game, reason why he was replaced at minute 71. It isn’t certain if he will be fit to play. If he isn’t ready then Diego García should be entering into the starting formation.

Jorge Durán is also out after been sent off in the first-leg; his spot at the left wing should be for Eugenio Pérez. The rest of the team is the same that lost at the Riazor, with Ignacio Pérez and Ibón Arrieta leading the attack, the latter is the top-scorer at the team and a real threat for Fabril due to his aerial power. Right winger Javier Serrano ‘Javilillo’ is another player to watch, he was the best player at his team in the first-leg.

El Palo: (4-4-2) Loren - Óliver, Jesule, Nacho Aranda, Antonio Muñoz or Diego García  - Javilillo, Gerrit, Flores, Eugenio Pérez – Ignacio, Ibón Arrieta
Deportivo B: (4-2-3-1) Marc Martínez – Caridad, Uxío, Insua, Adrián Martínez – Sidibé, Teles – Lemos, Romay, Víctor – Luis.
