Squad news

Deportivo debuted with brightness at the Riazor, a 3-0 win that gives hope for the new season. Nacional didn't give too much troubles, but the work made by Depor is promising. Rodri, Sergio and Juan Rodr?guez scored the goals for the victory. Now the Galician squad will play the final against the winner of the match AC Milan-Atl?©tico Madrid.

As was expected, Caparr??s sent a young squad with Sergio as captain. Lopo and Arbeloa played as central defenders. Rodri played on the left side and Barrag??n on the right. Sergio and Coloccini commanded the actions in midfield, Arizmendi played as right winger while Riki covered the left. Juan Rodr?guez performed as playmaker and Bodipo debuted with the squad as striker.

The team left a positive sensation although the squad performed with eight new faces on the pitch. The best man of the match was without doubt Antonio Barrag??n, the youngster made a solid game on the right side and he even shined upfront: More precisely, he made the assist in the first goal for Depor. After fifteen minutes he sent a cross that Rodri headed into the net.

Nacional didn't play a good first half and they only created some danger with long-distance shots, the most dangerous one was made by Gonzalo Castro (30'), one of the players that Lendoiro is following in order to cover the departure of Munitis. Eight minutes later Sergio increased the difference with a low and strong shot to pass Bava.

In the second half, Nacional increased the rhythm and they were near to scoring when Javier Delgado faced Aouate in the area, but the Israeli keeper deflected the shot by the Uruguayan. In the following play, Juan Rodr?guez scored the third goal with a shot that entered near to the right post. The ex-Malaga midfielder performed in a different position from the one he occupied in his previous club, he tried to fulfill the roll of playmaker. A task that gave him some troubles, but atleast he generated some occasions to score. Depor had the chance to increase the lead, but Arizmendi failed to score after a good assist made by Joan Verd??.

Another man playing in an unusual position was Rodri, the Catalan defender replaced Capdevila as left back and also had some troubles in that function, but Nacional didn't give him too many troubles. A curious case was the presence of Estoyanoff as striker. The Uruguayan replaced Bodipo at half-time and occupied that position despite having Arizmendi and Riki with him on the pitch. The experiment ended when Cristian replaced Riki 20 minutes later. Then Estoyanoff moved his position to the left wing and Riki performed as striker.

A positive scene at the end of the match was that Iago played as captain when he replaced Sergio at the 61th minute. Now Depor will wait for the winner of the confrontation between AC Milan and Atl?©tico Madrid, the final match will occur this Sunday.
