Fernando Vázquez is having problems in attack as Culio and Arizmendi are unavailable for the game; in order to fill up the gaps the coach has picked Teles and Bicho from Fabril; the latter could be a starter in the match.

The short squad of Deportivo is affecting the plans ahead of the visit to CD Tenerife (Saturday, 20h00 CET). There are three casualties for the game. The first two are suspensions. Playmaker Juan Culio saw the fifth yellow card in liga during the past game against Real Zaragoza, in that same match left-back Luisinho was sent off.

And on Wednesday it was confirmed that attacker Javier Arizmendi is out of the meeting too. The Madrilenian was ruled out due to a lower lumbar injury. These three casualties are reducing the list of available players to sixteen. For this reason coach Fernando Vázquez has picked Fabril’s Paulo Teles and Javier Abruñedo Fernández ‘Bicho’.

Striker Borja Bastón was dragging a muscle problem and didn’t complete Wednesday’s session, but by Thursday he was okay. The coach is planning to repeat the 4-1-4-1 figure, but the casualties of Arizmendi and Culio are moving him to play with Bicho. The coach admitted the possibility during his press conference, which will mean the first match as a starter at Segunda División for the 17-year-old youngster.

Also to mention that Vázquez won’t be on the bench as he’s serving a two-match ban after been sent off against Real Zaragoza. Neither second coach Manuel Pombo will be on the bench due to illness, so physical trainer Jose Ángel Franganillo will be the one in command of the situation, just like he did on the last season at Segunda when Oltra was suspended for several weeks.

Since the club had problems to arrange the trip to Tenerife it was decided that the first team is traveling early on Friday morning to the Canary Islands, so the coach released the list of picked players since Thursday.

List of picked players:
Goalkeepers: Lux & Fabricio
Defenders: Laure, Manuel Pablo, Seoane, Insua, Marchena & Kaká
Midfielders: Álex Bergantiños, Juan Domínguez, Teles. Wilk, Antonio Núñez, Juan Carlos & Bicho
Attackers: Luis Fernández, Rudy & Borja Bastón

At Tenerife, coach Álvaro Cervera breaths deeply after his team managed to conquer their second win on the season during the past weekend; it was a refreshing 0-1 result visiting SD Ponferradina. Still, the Canarians remain at the drop zone, four points under the salvation.

The good news is that there are no injury concerns at the Canarian team, while right-back Javi Moyano is returning from a suspension. The only doubt is what will happen with captain Sergio Aragoneses.

The Galician has been the starting keeper within the last five years, but surprisingly he was ruled out of the visit to SD Ponferradina due to tactical reason, which allowed the debut of 22-year-old Roberto Gutiérrez. The point is that the team had a solid performance in the game, mainly at defense and even clinched the clean sheet –their third on the season- so Cervera could be tempted to do the same for the visit of Deportivo.
