EXPLORING THE MARKET

08 Nov 2005
The rest of the year will be crucial for Lendoiro: Firstly, he has to face the third phase of the increase in the capital. Secondly, the administration board meeting on December that can change the rules of the club and finally, he has to negotiate the renovation of Caparr??s and the incorporation of new players to Deportivo. Uche continues to be the main target.

The toughest job for Lendoiro will be the consolidation of the club's structure. His dream of €60 million will have a crucial test during the following months, the operation for the increase in the capital is ready to accept with open hands the participation of investors coming from outside of the club, but nobody can posses more than 1% of the shares... at least until the administration board decides another thing.

However, Lendoiro is busy in another crucial thing: the consolidation of the team's structure. He's convinced that Joaqu?n Caparr??s is the coach that Deportivo needs in order to continue with his project with the youngsters. The negotiation with the Utrera-born coach has started and his renovation seems near to happen.

The next chapter is the incorporation of a new striker. Lendoiro has a debt with Caparr??s since he didn't sign the second 'offensive player' that the Sevillan coach was waiting during the summer market. The main candidate to fulfil the promise of Depor’s president continues to be Ikechukwu Uche (21). The Nigerian forward is doing an impressive job with Recreativo and sportpaper AS appoints that his incorporation is imminent; however, the same source wrote that this will occur until June of 2006.

Other candidates that appeared in the last days are Rodrigo Palacio (23) and Maxi L??pez (21). The first is the last Argentinean star that has appeared in Boca Juniors, but his incorporation will be complicated since his rights are owned by three clubs. The case of Maxi L??pez is more simple, he doesn't count in the plans of Frank Rijkaard and Barcelona wants to give him on loan, but Lendoiro said this past weekend that the interest of Depor in him is "an story invented by the papers."

Another position that Lendoiro is trying to reinforce is the defensive line. The possible departure of C?©sar, Pablo Amo and even Andrade could eventually create an empty slot in the squad. For that reason the incorporation of David Navarro (25) has been study by the Galician club. The signing of new players will need first the exit of some names in the current squad. C?©sar, Pablo Amo, H?©ctor, Jes??s Mu?±oz and V?ctor are the main choices to leave.

But the most mentioned name as a candidate to be sold is Aldo Duscher. The interest of Newcastle is very well know and lately the name of Manchester United as appeared. According to AS the Premiership giant is ready to pay €8 million for the Argentinean midfielder, Lendoiro wants at least €12 million and new offers could arrive soon. The activity continues on the offices of the club and the best words to describe it are the ones that Depor's president said one week ago: "the situation is hot... really hot!"
