CULIO CLOSE TO LEAVE DEPOR

09 Jan 2014
The Bankruptcy Administration accepted the exit of the playmaker, also the three candidates to the presidency. The club is already looking for reinforcements and conceded permission to the player in order to undergo the medicals in Dubai.

Juan Emmanuel Culio has lived his last days in A Coruña. The Argentine playmaker skipped the trainings for the second straight day, initially without permission from the club, and he seems desperate to join Al Wasl FC. According to a report from Radio Onda Cero he was not even answering the phone to Lux, his best friend at Depor.

On Wednesday’s night it was reported by the club that the player has received permission for two days in order to undergo the medicals in Dubai. Radio Cadena Ser even reported that the player already travelled to the United Arab Emirates.

Early on the day it was known that the Bankruptcy Administration had already approved the exit of the player, also the three candidates to the presidency. Lendoiro and his board of directors are the ones that didn’t like the operation as it barely brings incomes to the club, though they ended accepting it.

At this point it seems clear how much money Depor would get with this operation. Newspaper La Opinión A Coruña reported that the Galician club will collect €390,000 plus to save the half of the player’s wages (€140,000); in this way the operation can be valued in €530,000.

On Wednesday, Radio Cadena Ser confirmed the final amount, just that the distribution was different. They reported that the amount of the transfer is €300,000 plus €230,000 for the saved wages and other items. The intention of the club is to invest this money in three or four signings. The problem is that the LFP would only allow spending €230,000, because the club will exceed the salary cap if they invest the full amount.

Ariel Ibagaza (37, Olympiacos FC) remains as the main candidate to replace Culio, and within the last hours it has been mentioned the name of striker Ángel Rodriguez (26, Levante UD). The Canarian was already a target in past seasons and is searching for a door out as he isn’t getting minutes with Joaquin Caparrós.
