The first signing for the winter window is striker Toché. His arrival was confirmed late on Friday’s night. He will undergo the medicals on Saturday. Meanwhile, Salomão is also close to return to Deportivo.

Striker José Verdú Nicolás ‘Toché (31) is the first signing during the winter window 2014. The player is a free agent after cancelling his link with Panathinaikos FC at the end of December. The club didn’t reveal the duration of his contract, but already announced that he will undergo the medicals during Saturday.

Coach Fernando Vázquez was wishing to sign reinforcements before the game against UD Las Palmas, however Toché is arriving too late for that game and will have to wait for next game visiting Córdoba CF.
Toché is a striker that was pulled out from the academy of Atlético Madrid, after four years without any luck he shone at FC Cartagena and ended scoring 30 goals in two seasons with the Murcian club. In 2011 he signed for Panathinaikos FC and netted 20 goals in two league seasons, including an important goal that gave the pass to the UEFA Champions League.

Toché was living his third and last year of contract with Panathinaikos FC, but the financial problems forced ‘The Greens’ to negotiate his exit, which was concluded in December. Since then clubs like Real Murcia, Elche CF and Real Zaragoza were interested in him.

Yesterday it was reported that the club was close to seal the loan spell of winger Ibrahim Sissoko (22, AS Saint-Etienne), however the negotiations got stuck and the operation was ruled out according to several papers, though Sportpaper Marca is still convinced that it could happen.

Meanwhile, Diogo Salomão is set to return to Depor. Radio Cadena Cope reported the news first and it was later confirmed that the player is travelling on Sunday to A Coruña. The Portuguese winger is searching for minutes after sealing a new contract at Sporting CP. He has spent the last two seasons at Depor and his return would reinforce the left wing.

The club could complete a third and fourth singing as Fernando Vázquez wants a fourth striker and a new playmaker to replace Culio, though it’s possible that these incorporations will be made until the new president lands at the end of next week.
