RABELLO IS THE NEXT SIGNING

25 Jan 2014
Chilean Bryan Rabello is the third reinforcement of Deportivo La Coruña during the winter window; he’s a young player that can either perform at the left wing or in the playmaking function.

Bryan Martín Rabello is the third signing of Depor during the winter window. The club confirmed the news late on Friday, while Fernando Vázquez talked of the subject during his press conference. It's a loan spell lasting until June (Sevilla CF).

He’s a promising Chilean player that belongs to Sevilla CF; he left a positive impression during the pre-season with the Sevillan squad, but later lost opportunities before more veteran team mates. On this Primera season he has only made six appearances at Primera División (206 minutes).

So, the Andalusian club wants to see him gaining minutes and is searching for a loan spell. La Voz de Galicia reported the interest of Depor on Friday, which was later confirmed by Fernando Vázquez during his press conference before the game against Córdoba CF.

“We are searching for a playmaker; we will try to get a proper reinforcement according to the money we have. We’re searching for a creative player with passing skills. There was a name in the papers [Rabello] and I can confirm you that yes, it’s a possibility. [A journalist then asked: Rabello?] Yes, it’s correct.” The coach commented.

El Profesor also commented that, “For me he’s an extraordinary option. He’s a Chilean lad with a promising career. Sevilla signed him in order to reinforce their squad, what happens is that he’s too young. But if you watch him play you will realize he’s great. In my opinion he’s the kind of player that we need. Let’s say that the player and his agent are accepting the deal, so for now the only pending issue is the club. It seems done, but you know how these things are.”

Later on the day, Andalusian paper Estadio Deportivo confirmed that the deal was almost closed, and announced that the 19-year-old player will be traveling to A Coruña on Sunday in order to sign the papers; they also confirmed that the player will be in Córdoba on Saturday watching his new team mates.

Estadio Deportivo reported that Rabello had offers coming from CA Osasuna, Real Valladolid, Werder Bremen, Atalanta BC and UC Sampdoria, but that he chose Depor as Fernando Vázquez has insisted in his signing. Depor are looking for a playmaker that can replace Juan Culio, and the Chilean can perform on that function and also at the left wing.

And to confirm that things were sorted, the agent and the player himself talked of the subject in public, firstly agent Alejandro Santisteban confirmed that the deal is done on his Twitter account, ”There’s a verbal agreement between Rabello, Deportivo and Sevilla for a loan spell lasting until June.” He wrote.

A few hours later Rabello was interviewed at Radio Cadena Cope said that, ”I will be on Monday in A Coruña. I appreciate the fact that the coach phoned me. I had several offers, but the one that I liked was the one of Depor. The coach phoned me and it was relaxing.”

Finally, Canaldeportivo.com made the official annoucement late at night. The club confirmed that the playmaker should be making the medicals on Monday and will join the team on Tuesday.
