26 Mar 2014
It was a new matchday with a lot of goals and with four of the first six places getting very important victories. Former third place Recreativo de Huelva was one of the sides that failed. Meanwhile, bad results for the bottom four clubs.

The goals returned to Segunda División. For the second straight matchday there were more than 30 goals. In this opportunity the number was 32, the third highest on this season. At the same time it was a positive weekend for the leaders as four of the first six places added the three points.

Leaders SD Eibar clinched their second biggest win of the season trashing CD Mirandés on the road (1-4). Meanwhile, runners-up Deportivo got a narrow but solid 0-1 win visiting Real Zaragoza. Third place Sporting Gijón added an easy 3-1 win over Girona FC with a goal of Pichichi Šćepović plus a brace of Lekić.

One of the two top-teams that failed was Recreativo de Huelva; the Andalusians fell at CD Lugo with two goals scored within the last ten minutes (2-0). They are now fifth at the standings after UD Las Palmas extended their positive rally with a 3-1 win over nine-men Real Murcia.

The Murcians were sixth, but the loss is pulling them out of the promotion zone. Barcelona B got a hard-worked 2-1 win over Deportivo Alavés and the Catalan youngsters are for the second time on the season among the first six places. Since the Catalan youngsters cannot compete in the playoffs the spot is for CD Tenerife, side that clinched their biggest win of the season playing at home against SD Ponferradina (5-0) thanks to a hat-trick from Ayoze Pérez.

Even RCD Mallorca is back into the fight, they were losing 1-0 by minute 80 visiting Real Madrid Castilla, but the Majorcans pulled two goals to clinch a huge 1-2 victory before a ten-man rival. It’s their second straight victory and they are now only one point below the promotion seats.
