Fernando Vázquez has problems at midfield, but recovers Marchena and Insua for the centre of the defense. Recreativo de Huelva arrive to the Riazor fighting for the direct promotion and without major casualties.

Positive week for Deportivo as coach Fernando Vázquez is recovering two important players ahead of the meeting against Recreativo de Huelva (Riazor, Sunday, 12h00 CET). For the past game against Real Madrid Castilla the coach only had one centre-back available, now Pablo Insua has surprisingly returned after been ruled out for a full month.

The Galician defender was dragging a muscle strain and was expected to return in three weeks, but on Thursday he completed the training session and is now highly probable that he will play on Sunday. Carlos Marchena also completed the training session; the ex-Valencia man was dragging a grade one muscle injury on his right hip and is set to be available, though both players haven’t received yet the medical okay to play.

The other good news on the week was Luis Fernández, on Wednesday he sustained a knock in the ankle and was feared it was a sprain, however the striker completed the training on Thursday and is also available. Ibrahim Sissoko and Diego Ifrán also suffered knocks during the trainings, while keeper German Lux didn’t complete the first session of the week due to a shoulder problem, but the trio is fine and ready to play.

But Vázquez is having a big problem at midfield. Álex Bergantiños (hamstring) will join the group until next week, while Polish Cezary Wilk picked the fifth yellow card on the season during the visit to Castilla, so there’s an available spot at the starting lineup in order to join Juan Dominguez. For now El Profesor has made several tests and haven’t decided yet the solution for the game.

The other two players out injured are striker Toché (pulled muscle) and winger Diogo Salomão (ACL), so Vázquez has exactly 18 players available for the game. Playmaker Bicho, recovered from the head collision suffered on last Sunday, was the only Fabril’s player that training with the first team during the week

At Recreativo de Huelva, coach Sergi Barjuan has been boosted by the return of centre-back Juan Antonio Zamora and centre midfielder Ángel Montoro. Both players missed the previous match against SD Ponferradina due to suspension, the first was sent off in the goalless draw against RCD Mallorca and the second picked a tenth yellow card on the season during the same game.

Three players will miss the game at the Riazor due to injury reasons: attacker Jonathan Valle (quadriceps), left winger Ezequiel Calvente (knee) and striker Aloys Nong (ankle). None of them are important casualties. Left-back Daniel Cifuentes was replaced in the game against SD Ponferradina due to a muscle injury, but it’s expected that he will be available for Sunday.

The match is seen as a final in Huelva. They are conscious that a victory will put them only three points behind the direct promotion, while the defeat will pull them to the playoffs. Still, it isn’t expected a big presence of fans in A Coruña.
