MORE TRANSFER RUMOURS

10 Nov 2005
After several rumours started to appear, concerning Depor's intentions to sell or buy players during the winter market, both Lendoiro and Caparros decided to set things straight.

CAPARROS: "DUSCHER STAYS"
The Argentinean midfielder is no doubt a key piece in the system of Caparros and he missed only 22 minutes out of 990 possible during the Liga season. But there are several factors pointing to an imminent departure of Aldo Duscher, like his contract ending in Jun 2007 and Manchester United making a bid for him. Still, Caparros strongly denied that he will leave Deportivo during the winter market: "Duscher does not leave this winter. It would be dangerous to let such a player go at this stage. In summer, it's alread a different problem, then you will have to ask the president".

Meanwhile, the Argentinean is consolditating his fanbase among English coaches. After Manchester United made a mid of 8 million euros, it is expected for Newcastle to present an offer soon. Graeme Souness, the technician of Newcastle already expressed his interest, but now added some doubts about this potential transfer: "I would like to file Duscher, but not at any cost. We cannot take a loan in order to make a bid for him, and right now his price is very high. I do consider myself a fan of his game". Still, Souness has some alternatives should this operation fail. One of the targeted players is Bouba Diop (Fulham) and there are also others in the Spanish championship: "I am great follower of La Liga and I have paid attention to Duscher but not only to him".

LENDOIRO: "MAXI LOPEZ PLAYING FOR DEPORTIVO IS AN INVENTION"
Another hot topic surrounding the winter market plans of Lendoiro and Caparros concerns the striking zone, where the team also experiences the most problems. Two names were circulating in connection with Deportivo during the last few days, that of Argentinean Maxi Lopez and Nigerian Ukechukwu Uche.

Lendoiro reacted violently to the rumours about the Catalan striker, saying that the arrival of Maxi Lopez at Deportivo is an invention. "The club has not spoken to player, his representative or Barcelona. That is the story", he added. And while a loan deal could be a solution, it is unlilkely that the young Argentinean has raised any interest at Deportivo since he only played a quarter of an hour during this Liga season and has yet to make his Champions League debut.

Caparros is the one that decided to talk about Depor's interest for Uche. "It is a loss of prestige for the technician of Deportivo to talk about reenforcements when there are so many players in the team that think of themselves to be the best", he stated. Concerning the Spanish national team, Capa expressed his desire for Spain to qualify for the World Cup, but demanded humility in front of underdogs Slovakia.
