Deportivo announced the first modifications to the structure of the club. Richard Barral and David Sánchez are joining Ernesto Bello at the technical secretariat of Deportivo. These are the first of many changes to be completed.

New president Tino Fernández announced changes for the summer, perhaps not too many, but important modifications to the structure of the club. And the first one that was announced was to enrich the technical secretariat, which is responsible for the negotiations with the players, plus to explore the market searching for signings.

Until now the responsibility has been for Ernesto Bello, who is supported by local scouts plus the help of colleges in other countries. Now he is joined by Richard Barral, who will be the director of planning. Barral is currently working as the scout of Italian Udinese Calcio for the South America market.

Barral isn’t new to the job, actually he and Bello already worked at the technical secretariat during the era of Lendoiro. Previously he was also the coach of Deportivo Juvenil A. Still to be seen if they will have more power at the moment of making the decisions, both will be reporting to Fernando Vidal, the sporting advisor of the president.

Bu the duo won’t be alone, because the club also announced that they will be joined by David Sánchez-Marín; his role wasn’t explained by the club, though it’s understood that he will also participate in the signings. Sánchez has spent 13 years at the club working as a coach in the academy, within the last three years he has been the second coach of Deportivo B. He also worked in specific tasks at the technical secretariat, so now he was moved on a permanent basis.

More announcements are expected for the next days, for example José Luis Devesa, who was the coach of Fabril during the last two seasons, will not be the director of scouting, a new role created by the new management at the club. Meanwhile, Manu Mosquera should be landing in order to coach Depor B, the former player of Deportivo has been the coach of Laracha CF for the past three years.

Devesa will also have a role in the planning of the academy teams, the goal of the club is to have coaches working the full-time with the kids, and on last week it was known that six of the coaches won’t continue ahead of next season: Jaime (Juvenil A), Juan Subirán (Cadete A), Cándido Filomena (Cadete B), Saul Vázquez (Infantil A) Posi (Alevines A) and Juan Riveiro (performance specialization department).

All of them were ending contract and complained at the media for the measures, the club responded through Tino Fernández, who said that the reason was the disposition of the coaches as they didn’t want to continue on a full-time role. According to Deporte Campeón the club won’t talk of the subject until July, month in which it will reveal the names of the new coaches.
