BICHO LANDS AT BARCA B

15 Jul 2014
Playmaker Bicho has been loaned to Barca B for the next two seasons. The terms of the whole operation aren’t clear yet, only that the Catalans have the option to buy the player at the end of the spell.

For the last two months, playmaker Javier Fernández Abruñedo ‘Bicho’ has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona in order to play for the B squad.  At the beginning it was understood that the Catalans wanted to buy the player, but in recent weeks the deal turned to be a complex loan spell with several clauses.

The operation was official on Monday and for now it was only reported that Bicho will play loaned at Barcelona B (Segunda División) for the next two seasons with the Catalan club having the option to buy the player at the end of the spell.

Bicho traveled to Catalonia during the weekend and made the medicals on Monday’s morning; during his presentation he stated that, ”I’m happy and hopeful for arriving to a big club like Barca. I arrive to a young team, with players having experience at Segunda División, but I will fight to get a spot.”

The season 2013/14 wasn’t a good year for Bicho, he made the pre-season with the first team and left a positive impression during the Teresa Herrera match against Real Madrid, but later he only had a few opportunities in the Segunda season and to make things worse Deportivo B had the worst year in decades. Still, the playmaker is considered to be a diamond with a promising future.
